Historia
On 22 August 1485, Richard III was killed at Bosworth Field, the last king of England to die in battle. His victorious opponent, Henry Tudor (the future Henry VII), went on to found one of our most famous ruling dynasties. Richard's body was displayed in undignified fashion for two days in nearby Leicester and then hurriedly buried in the church of the Greyfriars. Fifty years later, at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries, the king's grave was lost - its contents believed to be emptied into the river Soar - and Richard III's reputation buried under a mound of Tudor propaganda.

Interesting twist and insight. Liked the humorous presentation. Depiction of Trump's fixation on The Apprentice and running the Presidency in the same vein, priceless.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

Historia
In 2010, the words “earthquake swarm” entered the lexicon in Oklahoma. That same year, a trove of Michael Jackson memorabilia—including his iconic crystal-encrusted white glove—was sold at auction for over $1 million to a guy who was, officially, just the lowly forestry minister of the tiny nation of Equatorial Guinea. And in 2014, Ukrainian revolutionaries raided the palace of their ousted president and found a zoo of peacocks, gilded toilets, and a floating restaurant modeled after a Spanish galleon.

an under rated superb
Revisado: 03-15-20
a must read for every true patriot. must be a first step by the author to open the eyes of the public. the good dr maddow must follow up with additional analyses of other facets of our society that impact so negatively on this country. things like Banking, Big Pharma, the Insurance Industry, Big Medicine/Hospitals, Pay Inequity ( American Tycoons, CEO pay, Top 2% and the Other 98, Haves and Have Nots, etc). should keep her meaningfully focused as a superb analyst for years to come. I look forward to her next extraordinary tome.

Historia
North America was settled by people with distinct religious, political, and ethnographic characteristics, creating regional cultures that have been at odds with one another ever since. Subsequent immigrants didn't confront or assimilate into an "American" or "Canadian" culture, but rather into one of the 11 distinct regional ones that spread over the continent each staking out mutually exclusive territory. In American Nations, Colin Woodard leads us on a journey through the history of our fractured continent....

Historia
The longtime Republican strategist and number one New York Times best-selling author of Everything Trump Touches Dies is back with a guidebook for beating Trump’s tricks, traps, and Twitter feed in 2020. Donald Trump is exactly the disaster we feared for America. Hated by a majority of Americans, Trump’s administration is rocked by daily scandals, and he’s embarrassed us at home and abroad. Trump can’t win in 2020, right? Wrong. As 2016 proved, Trump can’t win, but the Democrats can sure as hell lose.

story ends too abruptly
Revisado: 02-20-20
Good story line but, boom, it ended abruptly and a little prematurely. it would have been better had we seen the villain get his come-uppance at home, not just leave all that to our imagination. Measured but blunt control by Mycroft or public exposure and shame would have been so much more satisfying. Only one more chapter, just one?
