These things are true: Grisham can write and Beck can read. The long beginning of this story is only saved by Beck until the plot solidifies and it really gets going. I was drawn in enough to finish it and I’m glad I did. The characters aren’t as charming as most of Grisham’s Mississippi characters but I enjoyed them nonetheless. The history of Biloxi was very interesting, too. There is a major discrepancy at the end of chapter 52 and the beginning of chapter 53. I may have to actually find a hard copy to make sure I’m not missing something. Other than that, good story. Grisham doesn’t disappoint. Neither does Beck.

A simple but plausible storyline about two people who just “fit.” This should definitely be a Hallmark movie. No profanity or vulgar references. Just sweet, old fashioned love mixed with a few laughs. Perfect.

Exceptional writing. AMAZING narrators (although I love Wesleigh Siobhan and could listen to her read the alphabet). The backdrop for this story is perfect for Gen Xers like me who can relate to all of these experiences. I'm so excited this book popped up in my suggestions. If Kennedy Ryan did a prequel of these characters back to their college days, I'd love to read that, too.

What a great storyline! I loved that making lists was her coping mechanism - a very mature at that. I didn’t love the narrator’s voice. It didn’t seem to fit the teenager whose thoughts we were reading. Not a deal breaker but I’d love to hear another voice for “Queen.”

This is my second Tia Williams’ book and I loved it thoroughly. She writes so well with perfect imagery of the characters. It’s so realistic. The story doesn’t have a let down of excitement after the climax. In fact, the climax may be the last few pages. I can’t wait to listen again!
