This character had so much potential and it all just fell flat. There was spice but even it wasn't developed enough to be worth it. None of the characters had any kind of development or connection aside from sex. The cliffhanger couldn't even drag me to book two.

Incest, Witches, Spirits, and some Triggers

First off, the narration is amazing! I don't think I've ever heard any story as well performed!

Second, if you are bothered by incest this isn't for you.

Third, the hardest part for me was a lot of the talk about babies. I had a miscarriage in January and for that some of it was hard on me.

Overall it was a compelling story and I'm in it til the end.

Enjoyable but no Black Jewels!

I enjoyed this but it was harder for me to adapt to the rules of this new world. I loved the Black Jewels books and these just weren't the same. I don't know if it was the narration...it made the main character seem so child like, which I guess to an extent she is. For most of the book I listened because I paid for it. By the end I felt more drawn in. I will continue to the second so I guess I liked it well enough 😅

Love the book but what happened with narrator?

I'm very early in and I'm not sure I will enjoy this because I can't get back all the name prenouciations being changed from the first 2 novels. Literally I thought "Dole" was a new character until I realized she was pronouncing it "Dole" instead of "Doyle". The queen's name is pronounced different as is her half goblin companion. What happened here? I'm not genuinely concerned for the narration of the next story and that fact that I bought it ahead of time. The poor narration is so distracting I may have to dig out my hard copy to finish the series.

I loved every minute of this story! It definitely doesn't resemble Cinderella in any familiar way but it is a fun story from Enchantia that makes me crave the next installment!

Mostly Good

I got this during a sale and the premise was promising. The voice acting was superb! I was beyond impressed with the different voices. The modern day slang in a fantasy novel was slightly jarring. I understand she grew up in the mortal world but it still broke the scene from time to time. I also realize the characters at like mostly 17-19 but good God so much could have been avoided by proper communication and trust. The characters came off too immature at times epically when the fates of kingdoms have been placed in their hands. Overall I enjoyed the story and will very likely listen to the next one.

Good ending but I need more!!

Yes, the story comes full circle with a proper ending but I also feel there are some unanswered questions. The main quest is laid to rest but I want more. I wish I could follow these characters on their next adventure and it makes me sad that it has ended. I was not quite ready to walk away.

Another Great Installment!

I love this series and I'm binge listening! I saw a lot of reviews talking about the performance and I get it. There are ALOT more characters! It is probably hard to have a different voice for each one. This did not take away from my enjoyment of the story. On to book 3!
