Historia
I’m a Fortune Fae — I see the future. But I didn’t see this coming. My Alpha will stop at nothing to possess me until he drags me all the way to Fortune Fae Academy to join the other wide-eyed Omegas-in-training. He believes I’m strong enough to survive — and I hope he’s right. He also believes I’ll kneel at his feet. He couldn’t be more wrong about that. I don’t need three broody Betas and an asshat Alpha telling me what to do. I’m going to keep running until he realizes he’s chasing the wrong girl.

I am so incredibly disgusted...infuriated this book is nothing but rape and molestation!! I’m not joking the FMC rubs from this guy and wants nothing to do with him. But he is grossly obsessed with her. Seriously at one point he finds her, forces himself on her, rubs his manhood on her privates, makes her body react and then says that she wants him! Just because the body reacts does not mean she is willing! Even if your raped your body may still act like a body does. But she begs him to get off of her and he keeps holding her down rubbing on her. Later in the book he literally forces one of the guys to suck him and says that it is punishment!!!!! He is punishing him by sexually abusing him! And the author makes this seem ok! I will fight to get this off of audible because I am not ok with rape or molestation or sexual abuse and I have NEVER EVER in audible or tv or movies have I even seen someone “normalize” sexual abuse! I seriously cried in disgust during those scenes in this book! There should at leave be a disclaimer that there is sexual abuse disguising itself as entertainment in this book!! I will go to social media, goodreads, amazon and whatever place I can go to make it know that this is a absolute disgusting book! Trust me, if you have a past or triggers, don’t read this book...it is sick my stomach hurts honestly!!

But first, we must save Blackwood Kingdom from international war. Fae, sirens, and harpies are coming to destroy us, and short of a divine intervention, I’m not sure how we’re going to survive it.

Loved the previous books..
Revisado: 09-03-20
But this one fell a little flat for me! There were 3 books making you hate the king and cringe at all he did! I mean he was down right horrid. Very...EWW! But then this book just...left me unsatisfied with the ending!
So for Alexis, the MFC I don’t know what is was, but she annoyed me so much in the book it was distracting. She kind of made me tell her to shut up many times. Real self centered and a little attention starved. I feel like she lost who she was in the beginning and she didn’t seem genuine! The relationships seemed forced and it felt like she was trying to hard to come across as a bad@$$ instead of just being true to herself. I don’t know what it was.
I feel like I still have unanswered questions or like there was a lot that was not touched on again. But I loved the first few books. This one was a miss and I’m a little bummed because I was really looking forward to the conclusion.
Narration was on point as always with Vanessa!! She is a goddess!!!

Historia
For 18 years I've suffered at the hands of the Hunters. They've done their best to break me, to tear me open and unleash the terrifying monster that lives within. Until the day they go too far. When a desperate escape leads to another brush with death, I'm forced to place my trust in the hands of four formidable strangers. Wild and untamed, their feral natures call to me, their warrior hearts make mine come alive. And when they offer me a place to stay while I heal, I can't say no. But the secrets I carry are deadly, and my past is a twisted, evil nightmare better left forgotten.

I’m taking a break...
Revisado: 08-18-20
I had to, take a break that is and listen to something else. The narrator is talented sure but I had to speed it up two levels because it is slow and...ok honestly I think it was the FMC narration that turned me off of Hope. I just didn’t really like her after awhile.
Let me explain, don’t get me wrong I completely understand the trauma and the fear and the crazy “it’s my fault” mentality and you really could not say that this was not realistic, but here is my problem...this is a fantasy book. I get realistic human behaviors but do I want to listen to the crazy for 21 hours on repeat. Nothing changed, she was damaged and contradicting the whole time and it’s not necessarily “entertaining” when you have to listen to the realistic thoughts and feelings of a thoroughly damaged girl for 21 hours. It would have been nice if the Author maybe did a “2 or 3 months later” thing so that we would be able to see some healing.
Also it was sooo wildly frustrating how one of the guys just couldn’t control himself. No matter the fact that he was aware of her trauma and cared SO much for the FMC but I guess not enough to stop snapping, raging, and needing to run off just because of some “look” or “thought” it just was sooo NOT attractive.
As far as my issues with the FMC, well like I said with her abuse, I completely get her fears and stuff. But at the same time she is apparently strong enough to get through such morbid abuse, but she it build absolutely no strength in her. What happened to that determination to survive or make it through? It’s like I don’t believe that she was tortured IN THE WAY she shortly explains (in her head). Also...why didn’t she just ask the guys to help her get to her uncle since that was her plan...her excuse was that she didn’t know if her uncle would help her...but she also didn’t know the guys that she met and on top of that, didn’t want to bring trouble for the guys...yet she stayed and continued to beat herself up over putting them in danger, but also freaked out and stopped thinking about the “trouble” she was putting them in if she thought they were kicking her out. Also it’s stupid to be like...I don’t want to get them hurt, but also don’t want to get them a chance to protect themselves by telling the truth.
I’m not saying I hated the book...but I definitely finished two other books in between listening to this book because I just couldn’t sit in the unchanging, stagnate, non eventful, environment for that long.
Lastly seriously there is like no magic. They talk about a monster but I’ve no idea what it does, what it is, why the compound wanted it...it comes to a point where being in the dark is just annoying or not getting answers after listening for 21 hours!
The internal monologues dragged the “beep” on!!! I mean I’m listening thinking...man it must be awkward standing and staring at someone for that long while they are waiting for you to respond. lol
She also describes the men, like every time she sees them. I dont understand why or how she described their appearances so much.

Sometimes I wonder...
Revisado: 08-11-20
This is one of those books where you wonder, quite honestly if the Author meant for us to actually like the main character. Seriously her monologue, thoughts, words, outbursts, and immaturity is unbelievably unbearable. I did not finish this book. I could not handle the thoughts and actions of this immature, insane main character and I just could not escape her because it is her point of view. There is a point in the book where she is yelling at the male main character to tell her what is going on or she will not be safe. He tells her because she kept yelling at him to do so, and then tells him that he could be killed for telling her, then he gets mad at him for telling her. Instead of feeling bad that she forced him to tell her, she must have forgotten that she yelled and basically said that she will make stupid decisions and make herself unsafe if he didn’t tell her. Ugh. She completely over exaggerated, and got mad that he did not kiss her, when he was explaining that it was forbidden she seriously acted like an 8 year old girl, stormed off and wouldn’t let him explain. Even when he did explain she was not even slightly smart enough to hear him. She goes through her transformation, and thinks “I’m irritated because I’ve not seen MMC, because I want him to see my new look” then when she sees him and he does not immediately fawn over her she says “did he even notice my new looks? Why hasn’t he said anything?” Then when he turns his attention to her and asks if they can talk, she gets irate and says there is nothing for them to talk about!!!! What the??? I mean honestly that is just not enjoyable to read or hear. She was jealous over him, but then continued to think he was a murderer. I mean you can take the chance but I definitely could not get through it, I opted to RE-READ a book I’ve already read, instead of listening to this childish behavior. I understand she is like 15-16 but you kind of have to make it bearable for the reader! I noticed that a man wrote this book. I wonder what he thinks of girls and how they think. It kind of shows in this book. I did return this book.
Narration? Hurt me! Honestly the influxes omg ended the same...exact same over and over at the end of the sentence or ever other word. It was also unbearable. I’m sorry, I can not pretend that I am capable of writing a book or narrating one, but I am a lover of books and of Audible. Unfortunately, everything fell apart for me on this pick. I would not listen to another of the narrators books and never read/listen to this Author again. I do not think the reader was in mind when writing or recording this book. Shrug! That’s just my opinion!

Narrator thinks these are cartoon characters
Revisado: 07-02-20
I love most of everything Jaymin Eve does but I’ve put off reading these books because of the sample of the narration. I decided to just go for it maybe I’ll get used to it! But omg the narrator ruined The whole experience, enjoyment, attractiveness of the guys, and my overall view of the main character. It’s like she tried to make the MC sound “cute” but she sounded stupid not like her actions were stupid, but she sounds like a freaking baby. Not.cute.at.all!!! The guys sounds like cartoon characters which was not attractive at all. I could not imagine them being “hot as all sin” with the voices they had. Also with the voice given to the MC and the way she made her inside character sound...the whole “food obsession” was just disgusting to me! I was so severely annoyed everytime she talked about food. Again it just wasn’t cute or enduring like it should have been, like it was written to be. It’s a shame! Vanessa Moyen would have killed this narration and made the book what it should have been. I’m reluctantly listening to the next book...but barely...I’m searching audible for other books while painfully listening

I was nobody. No matter how hard I tried, I never fit in with anyone at my high school. Now I know why. Turns out I'm a witch. A scary powerful one, too. Except The Coven that claimed me won't teach me how to use my magic. Suddenly, I'm selected by the Goddess to hunt down a mythical locket needed to save the world from destruction. The only person who actually tries to help me is the alarmingly attractive Tennessee. He has immeasurable power and breathtaking mismatched eyes. I'm drawn to him on a level I can't explain...and he's forbidden from getting too close to me.

Extreme Desperation!!
Revisado: 06-28-20
I was happy to see this book pop up because it popped up under narrator Vanessa Moyen who is amazing. Also I’m in a book rut, just wondering through waiting for my favorite book continuations to come out. When I saw this I jumped! I liked it enough. I can say that I was wildly turned off of the MC. She comes off as so extremely desperate! Way to excited and takes the news way to easily and is always asking Tennessee to kiss her. It come off...well childish. But I guess a little bit real. Anyways the story lacked character development. I just don’t feel anything for any...ANY of the characters, as I don’t know a single thing about them. The story kind of just jumps right in as if maybe there was a prior book that explained the world. But I looked and found it not! Anyways worth a listen for me I guess while I wait for the big girl books to come out! ;)

Happy second chance
Revisado: 06-23-20
I started this book when it first came out because it was narrated by Vanessa Moyen, I maybe got through 3 or 4 chapters and thought it was a “mild” book and stopped reading it. I’m currently waiting for other titles to come out and decided to start this up again. Surprisingly I was able to pick up where I left off because the story stuck with me I guess and I remembered the chapters I had read clearly enough! It turns out the book was really a fantastic read! I thoroughly enjoyed it, it did not make me cringe, the MC did not make stupid decisions and she stayed humble. Things made sense with the way it was written, there was no whinny angst or excessive internal thoughts and I am excited for the next book in the series, which I am listening to as I’m writing this review...away I go!! Oh P.S. the narration is amazing of course a freakin goddess Vanessa Moyen is!!

Well I mean it’s a book!!
Revisado: 06-11-20
The frustrating parts for me was that there was a fear of this man, it does not explain a single thing about why except that “she was stupid enough to love someone” one thing is vaguely talked about but don’t want to spoil it I guess. The problem is that there is no reason to keep the details a secret. The end result is that she is terrified of the man...but it’s not real to me because she does not give reasons WHY...WHY...WHY...WHY???? Is not even strategically suspenseful it just did not click! I don’t know how to explain it but it’s wildly irritating! Another thing that frustrated me was that I could never tell when she was talking to herself in her head, and when she was talking to the guys or anyone else. The narrator used the same voice for her internal monologue and when she spoke to people, which would be fine if it explained when she was speaking to herself and when she was speaking to others. Most of the time you had to figure it out by the response or lack there of from the people around her. Lastly the ending, omg it was so jumbled with unnecessary words that I am still honestly NOT sure what happened... that is not said in a good, “omg I can’t believe that happened” kind of way. I mean it was supposed to be this crazy cliffhanger and honestly it was written so confusing and jumbled that I couldn’t even make out what was happening. I would not recommend this book

Seriously!!?? I mean the entire book had no point. Finally I fast forward to the end just so I could write this review! I’ll be returning! The whole book was “I grew up in the rough side of town don’t mess with me (seriously MULTIPLE TIMES) and the. She runs away crying but then she’s like I’m tough I’m not scared of the bellas. And the rest of the book was repetitive...I wanna have sex with you, then no we can’t have sex, and then touch, let’s have sex, no we can’t do this???!! WTF??? Ugh and the narrator made her sound like such a sincere whiny teenager brat crazy girl!! I’m annoyed my ear listen to the story and narrator at all! Oh the beautiful mind of Audrey Grey!!!!!
Revisado: 06-04-20
Soooo I don’t know how or where to begin! It’s books/series like these that makes me crazy. I just don’t understand how Audrey thinks of this stuff! I’m baffled!
So I absolutely loved the overall story. I went back and forth on that I thought was going to happen and I absolutely loved it! I love it when an author can make you second guess what you think will happen. It means that they are not predictable.
What annoyed me?
So I absolutely adore Haven! She is the type of MFC I like to read/listen about. But she did annoy me with how she put Bel’s life literally over everything. I mean even kind of forced other people to lay their life down for him. They were loyal to her and I felt like she took advantage of that and had little concern about her other friends lives. She was happy to die for him and expected others to do the same. But that is addressed in a beautifully awesome way later in the book. It also bothered me that Bel made rash decisions and then He and Haven would blame Haven and make it seem like she caused it, when in reality she was doing everything FOR him. It is a little slow in the beginning but I already know this author, she is a beast with her mind and storytelling, so it didn’t bother me that much because I knew once I get through the beginning she would take me on an amazing unique ride! (Ps I was right).
A little glimpse of what I loved. (Because I loved everything and can’t really give details)
I absolutely love Stolis (spellcheck?) I mean I love him!! From the first book I loved him! I love how nothing (really) offends him and his internal struggles. I loved the slow build showing what was happening with all of the characters. It was not like...BOOM everything happened all at once. It shows the mental struggles of the characters. It shows love, friendship, honor, pride, evil, darkness, and you get to watch it all unfold so beautifully! The ending was not all drawn out to where you want to fast forward and it was like a “oh shit...ok ok I see what you did there” moment!!
Oh gosh don’t get me started on the queen narrator, Vanessa Moyen!!! This woman is incredible! She created different voices for EVERY character! I never had an issue know who was speaking!! She ACTS when she reads and I could not be more grateful! She makes things funny, she makes you feel emotions, she does the little things that make it just so perfect! Audrey and Vanessa...you both are beasts!!!
Just dive in guys, I am probably the most picky reader ever! And I love the series!! Can’t wait for more!
