Historia
Ever been almost beheaded by a snow plow? Turned into an undead by a homeless vampire? Cheated and betrayed by your lying sack of shit husband? Welcome to my life. Or, more correctly, my crazy afterlife. To everyone behind the gates of our wealthy community in Charming, Mississippi, my husband and I were the Joneses everyone tried to keep up with. A beautiful house, the perfect gated community, two gorgeous kids, and a supposedly flawless marriage.

Enjoyable listen
Revisado: 10-08-20
When I listen to a book, I want to be entertained and this book does just that. The main character is mature, which makes it even better.
Rachel is witty and fun. My only complaint is that it ended too soon. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

In So You Want to Talk About Race, Ijeoma Oluo offers a contemporary, accessible take on the racial landscape in America, addressing head-on such issues as privilege, police brutality, intersectionality, micro-aggressions, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the "N" word. Perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between people of color and white Americans struggling with race complexities, Oluo answers the questions listeners don't dare ask and explains the concepts that continue to elude everyday Americans.

Historia
Living and slaving in Fill City One, you get used to the smell. We call it the Everpresent Stink. But every once in a while, on a spring day with a breeze, it clears away enough to remind us that there is something more out there. Most Fillers' wildest dreams would be just to get past the walls and live in the mainland. But my dream? It’s a little bigger. I’m going to Mars.

Such a delightful story!
Revisado: 01-20-19
First let me say, my sci-fi interest is casual. However, I do like stories, particularly young adult, with strong female characters. Paper Forest is such a likable character, that I was hooked within the first 2 minutes with Khristine Hvam as a believable narrator.
The story is light and held my interest. I looked forward to listening and was a bit sad when it ended. The story is set in the future, but does not have the dark setting of some dystopian series.
If you are looking for a entertaining read that is not heavy or dark, you will enjoy "You're Going to Mars". I am off to find other titles by this author.

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

Comfortable story line.
Revisado: 01-13-19
As are all Molly Harper books, this is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Her stories are comfortable and entertaining. This does not disappoint if you are a fan.
It lost one star because I did not like having two narrators. I form a vision in my mind of a character but when the gender narrating changes, it changes my vision.

Historia
The title of this audiobook says it all. It contains two short, twisted tales. The first story, "Love Sick in the Head", is about Timothy Bridle, who falls in love with his girlfriend's dying mother.... That's when things get really sick and twisted. A sickening love story. The second story, "Feeling the Fear", follows one man's curiosity to discover if he can feel and experiences someone's fear. Things don't turn out to well for him or his poor "subject".

Short but not so sweet
Revisado: 08-11-18
If you love twisted humor, don't miss this short book. The first story was reminiscent of Lolita but with a decided twist. The second made me glad I was not eating while listening.
Narrator was good but his voice didn't change tone from one story to the next so it took me a minute to adjust when the second story began.

Revisado: 08-21-16
What made the experience of listening to Brighter than the Sun the most enjoyable?
This book is a good companion to the other books in the series. Honestly, I am not sure why anyone who enjoys the series wouldn't like it. It tells the story of Reyes from his perspective, which is wonderful.
There is nothing new in the plot or story, just more information.
