Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Is Jazz a Genius?
Revisado: 10-05-23
I found this book disappointing rather than uplifting. The protagonist isn't very likeable and seems to have intelligence and ethics that fluctuate unexpectedly. What drives her poor judgment isn't clear. Ultimately, she's a menace. Her relationships don't develop. The story begins ends with her life unchanged, a broke smuggler who rejects every opportunity to grow out of adolescence. I wanted idealism--a hero to admire--so I am left disappointed.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Best Book in a Decade
Revisado: 05-26-21
This story is rich in both science and emotion, a rare combination. The audio format enhances "sounds" (spoiler avoidance) beyond the written format. I will be gifting Project Hail Mary in Audible format to many of my friends and family because I feel so moved and impressed. As a retired Jr. High science teacher with a Master's in English, I am peculiarly positioned to appreciate the clarity of the content presentation and its seamless delivery in the unfolding of the story. The narrator is gifted in capturing the tone, geekiness, and humor. This audio book is worth every penny I invested; it's a masterful accomplishment that surpasses the hundreds of books I have read in the last ten years.

Historia
We try and fail to lose weight, be better partners, get fit, get organized, or fix our finances. We know what to do, but we can't make ourselves do it. But help has arrived, just in time to rescue your New Year's resolutions. Gumptionade is a booster for self-improvement plans, like Oxyclean is a booster for laundry detergent.

Useful for Patient Listeners

This is the opposite of a quick fix book. The author's sincerity, knowledge, and experience bring together a practical and insightful skill set. The low cost and free online worksheets make this a good value.
