Worst Grisham book ever
Revisado: 08-08-20
Along with Camino Island this is the worst Grisham book. If I were to guess, I would say he had someone else write it. If not, what happened to Grisham’s great talent?

Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

Pregnant Pause
Revisado: 01-05-19
Well written story. The narration was a little strange with so many pregnant pauses. I mean they were long pauses at the end of sentences and at commas. It made it so hard to listen to, so I had sped it up to one and one half times speed. That made it just about right even though I prefer listening at normal speed.

Failed expectations
Revisado: 10-14-18
This is the first Dean Koontz book that did not hit the mark for me. It took seven chapters before it grabbed my interest. I'm glad I waded through that to get to the better parts of the book. Usually I don't go past three chapters of a book that does not capture my interest before bailing.

Historia
Unraveling the tumultuous, decades-spanning story of the Dolan family’s friends, lovers, and adversaries, Double Feature is about letting go of everything - regret, resentment, ambition, dignity, moving pictures, the dead - and taking it again from the top. Combining propulsive storytelling and mordant wit against the backdrop of indie filmmaking, Double Feature brims with a deep understanding of the trials of ambition and art, of relationships and life, and of our attempts to survive it all.

What a waste
Revisado: 09-01-17
This is hands down the worst book I have ever read. Before reading the first 50 pages I wanted to throw it away, but I hung in there being sure it would get better. It did not. It got progressively worse right till the horrible end. I have no idea how such dribble got published. Very poorly written ramblings promoting the authors personal biased views of life. Very very loose on facts and reality.

Historia
When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

Narrator put me to sleep
Revisado: 08-04-16
I really don't know if this is a good story. I simply could not stay focused. The narrator droned along, leaving me wondering what I had been listening to for the past fifteen minutes. I gave it four hours, but I can't take it any longer. I may try it in print, once I get the narrator out of my head.

The narrater put me to sleep.
Revisado: 09-12-15
Would you try another book from James Rollins and/or Christian Baskous?
I never had the opportunity to get into the story because I could not get past the horrible narration.
Has The 6th Extinction turned you off from other books in this genre?
That is for sure.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
It distracted from the story to the point I had to stop listening in the first chapter.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I have no idea. Perhaps if I read a paper copy I may like it but the narrator was awful.
