I loved this story and hearing it read by the author. She was positively delightful to listen to. A beautiful, mysterious story that I'm still thinking about a few weeks after I listened to it. I can see why Reese chose this one!

I loved this book. Gothic, spooky, a sense of building dread throughout. Great narration. Twists I didn't see coming.

I really wanted to like this book, and was expecting it to be closer to the caliber of The Handmaid's Tale, since it was endorsed by Margaret Atwood. However, I found the story to be rather tedious. This particular performance was fine when the reader was speaking in her native accent, but her American accent was atrocious and annoying -- I flinched every time I knew one of the American characters was going to speak. I would rather she had just read it in her own voice the whole time, without using any accents. Sometimes she used a southern U.S. accent and a Midwest U.S. accent (both done poorly) for the same character. With that said, I know others who absolutely loved this book and highly recommended it. Just not my cup of tea.
