After the first series you can stop……
Revisado: 05-02-24
Stories never change. Same bad guys just different names. No main characters ever die. 11 or 12 books in & I’m not invested in any characters.
I’ve really enjoyed series from these authors before. At this point they’re just churning out books………..

A breezy tale with endearing characters
Revisado: 09-13-23
Sometimes you want a fantasy novel with action, whimsy, and the most endearing characters. This is it.
I read a lot of space opera/space military and am thoroughly entertained. But I want my urban fantasy to be light but still have a great story.

Historia
They couldn’t afford a ship, much less the cost of registering one...and now they need an entire fleet! Harmon Tomeral, along with friends Clip, Zerith, and the artificial intelligence Jayneen, were heroes. Having brought back the battlecruiser Salvage Title from an unknown system, they defeated the alien Squilla and saved their home system of Tretrayon, although they lost the computer holding Jayneen in the battle. But the Squilla are coming back. And, not only are they coming, they have also recruited the alien Krift to help them destroy the Tretrayon system.

Story good, with one exception
Revisado: 08-16-23
I really do like this story and the narration. I listen to a lot of space/military/scifi, and I enjoy this series for not being so immersed in the science.
But, either the writer or narrator declares who’s talking after EVERY sentence. If you’re giving characters their own voice, you don’t have to say who’s talking. Blah, blah blah Harmon said, she said, he said. Every single sentence. It’s a big momentum killer

Better books for this subject
Revisado: 07-27-23
Great concept - boring, slow and unimaginative telling. Check out Jeremy Robinson for some great series of AI, nanotechnology, and interesting/lovable characters

Historia
Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio. Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

Revisado: 05-02-23
Looking forward to seeing how this series plays out. Book one was a bit slow but established history and foundation for the rest. The performance was ok, but sometimes it was hard to tell which character was speaking.

Historia
At first, Logan Ramsay isn’t sure if anything’s different. He just feels a little . . . sharper. Better able to concentrate. Better at multitasking. Reading a bit faster, memorizing better, needing less sleep. But before long, he can’t deny it: Something’s happening to his brain. To his body. He’s starting to see the world, and those around him—even those he loves most—in whole new ways. The truth is, Logan’s genome has been hacked. And there’s a reason he’s been targeted for this upgrade.

As dry as a textbook re genetics
Revisado: 04-16-23
The story had promise. But a good part of it was the narrator literally reading the names of genes. It felt like a science lecture by the most monotone narrator - and I don’t think it was his fault. The material was horrendous

Snarky AI overload
Revisado: 12-08-22
Not every Sci-Fy story needs a mouthy AI. As his foray away from the Bobiverse, this hurt.
I liked the story idea and light hearted plot. The character of the AI made me cringe. Every bit of dialogue was snark and not necessary. Don’t waste the credit.

Ruined a great series
Revisado: 12-06-22
The premise of the 3 previous books was unique and intense. Very nice to see a different approach.
This was just painful. The minute they went into space it tanked. It was a bad regurgitation of the merry band of pirates. “Lobster” aliens (re Hamsters, Beetles, Spiders). A snarky robot called Cock Ring - cringe, not funny for as much as the dialogue kept going to it for laughs.
No segue from the last book to this one, even though they have the same main characters and it’s the same plot. It’s definitely not a first in a new series

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Good character development, but story is slow
Revisado: 11-07-22
Love the concept of the story and so far the introduction and development of the characters. But more time should’ve been spent explaining the contrasting factions, history of these warring parties and getting us to the end. There are also some random thug bad guys & I have no idea if they’re even part of the overall story going forward.
