This is a really dynamic podcast that brings to light an issue with the current system, but then goes a step further and brainstorms potential ways of correcting the system to encourage our veterans to own their story! Rather than treating post-traumatic stress injuries with medication and isolation, we need to help our vets feel connected, to have a purpose and a plan! Well done, gentlemen!!!
There are groups out there working to help veterans heal from these injuries. The Heal the Hero Foundation works to provide access to neuro-supportive programs to vets across the country, to create increased resilience in a drug-free, non-medical program that costs just a FRACTION of what a single year of meds to “treat” PTS costs.
If we support our vets, we support their families and their communities, and ultimately, the nation.

In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. and this time it's a really good thing. Dan did a fantastic job! Sometimes when an author reads their own book, it can be flat and lack the edge behind the words. But in this book, it was read like he was actually telling the story, sharing the lessons off the top of his head. I highly recommend!!!
