Great story
Revisado: 08-06-24
The story is fantastic. The narrator is good but there are some inconsistencies with the use of voice modifications that distract from the story. It’s used to emphasize the AI speaking or things that are just thoughts, but sometimes he leaves it on or forgets to use it other times. A couple of times the recording is corrupted and there is some feedback.
Looking past the technology issues everything else is great.

Historia
With the Builder threat behind them, the time has finally come for Jason and his team to hit the road. Eager to get back to the adventuring he’s been longing for, Jason is excited to not be at the center of world-changing events. But before he goes, one last attempt to pull him into politics has him leaving Rimaros with a strong final impression. With new places to visit and new people to meet, the remnants of recent events have scarred the land and left lingering dangers behind. It's a busy time for adventurers willing and able to fight with monsters.

Minor performance issues, still great listen.
Revisado: 05-07-23
Always a really good read but there are multiple performance issues with the narrator in this one. It was a bit easier to notice the breaks in the recording but those are not a big deal. The issues I had were when a whole sentence was cut off at one point and there is another point where the narrator just randomly says “are you done, are we done?” He is usually VERY good so not sure what happened at these points.

Setting the stage for the next one I hope?
Revisado: 02-16-23
In most long running series there tends to be a book or two dedicated to re-explain things and set up for a new foundation when there are large transitions in the plot. This seems to be one of those books so it can seem like there is a lot of talking and little action. This isn’t a bad thing so long as the following book hits the ground running and doesn’t stop too often. Still a great book and series though. Looking forward to book 9.

Historia
The manhunt has officially begun. Now the target of a game-wide Holy War, Ned is forced to flee the Onyx Sands. The odds are stacked against him; Tyrann has tens of thousands of followers, a religion that’s spreading like wildfire, and a powerful god that will be stepping into the world of EBO in a matter of days. Meanwhile, Ned’s allies are a squirrel-exploding bard, a repurposed home security system who takes her instructions far too literally, and a wildly unreliable talking axe named Frank. But even as the inevitable conflict draws closer, change is coming to EBO.

Fantastic
Revisado: 05-16-22
I have liked most books that Travis Baldree narrates, but didn’t think any story would compete with the “Unsouled” series he read by Will Wight. This one though is remarkable and quickly rushing up my list of favorites.

Not bad, not great
Revisado: 02-25-22
The book is written very well. The voice performance from Mr. Taylor not so much. He is really good at just reading and doing minor voice alterations. When he tries to do too big of a change it is almost cringy. He would be great narrating other books. Just maybe not LitRPG.

Historia
Jack Mitchell knows he won't survive the impact of the massive asteroid hurtling towards Earth. He's not one of the handful of lucky lottery winners scheduled for rescue. But he did luck into a NexGenVR capsule, which means Jack can risk a one-way trip to the world of Viridan Gate Online (V.G.O.), an ultra-immersive fantasy role-playing game. Taking that leap of faith, though, means permanently trapping his mind in the game and killing his body in the process.
