this was such an eye opener for me
Revisado: 02-08-23
the enthusiasm in the writing and in the narration just made me love writing.. it also made me love humanity once again. this book helped me discover my assets. my greatest asset Was breaking rules. now I'll return to that habit, that asset with a new knoweldge of boundaries and HOW to actually respect them with castrating my writing. although i must say this should be treated as lectures and not as an audiobook for many reasons. PS: that "corps e in the trunk" line makes me smile like nothing else

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Revisado: 01-27-23
i loved it the moment she started talking even though I'm not a fan of her, nor am did i know anything about her. im a man but i connect deeply with her sense of humor and her relationship with her mother. her mother was the selling point of the first half of the book (after all she's in the title). around chapter 60 is when the mother is mentioned less and the book starts getting really dark showcasing jannette's habits and obsessions and it shows her in a bad light, which contrasts the good girl of her youth. the younger jannete you wanted to hug, while the older one it seems like she just hates herself so much that she felt it would be a good idea to paint herslf with such dark colors and show it to the world. after chapter 60 she's just bitter and i though it would get better but then the book ended. i feel cheeted and manipulated and drained if that's even possible. the narration was great when the book had color and bitter sounding in the newer context of the later cahpters, again 60 and above. why didn't she feel the duty to tell us about her palns, dreams or progress at the end of the book? why does she put us all in pur seats, buckles us up and then drive us off a cliffhanger of impending drain?

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

well written for what it is
Revisado: 01-24-23
i got this thinking it was honey and i loved the parts that were. but the shallowness of the characters is draing and annoying! the lack of purpose in this book and its degenerate agenda really is a lesson for writers out there: if the material is worthless then it's not worth reading. i couldn't finish the book but it makes me want to take a shower. strangley enough this is one of the darkest book i have ever read, it really lowers your gaurd and then Bam! you go down

degenerate content. goes against every atom in me. the author thinks that it's not natural to feel shame and that you should cancel it. cancel shame? what and become an animal too? i never rate books but this i couldn't let it pass. absolutely awful thinking. the work of the devil if you ask me. however i do believe in pleasure
