Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would absolutely recommend Dead Dog to a friend. The story is gripping, gritty & incredibly funny. Michael Hacker's narration brings this story to life in ways that I can't hear anyone else narrating it. He actually becomes Max.

What other book might you compare Dead Dog to and why?

The performance is reminiscent of Mystic River read by Scott Brick. The vocal cadence & timber reminds me of Bricks performance. The story, not so much but just the performance.

Which character – as performed by Michael Hacker – was your favorite?

I gotta say Max is my favorite character. Just badass & doesn't take any crap from anybody.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely.

If you like your stories gritty with a sense of humor then I highly recommend this book. The accents aren't over the top, the production is top notch & it's about a man & his dead dog named Gator. Whats not to like?!

Masterfully storytellers

Craig Johnson is the Zane Grey of our times! His character of the embattled Walt Longmire is a true testament to the law enforcement officers of today while keeping the embers lit to the figures of the old west. His supporting cast is also superb. I can't think of a better narrator to bring his stories to life than George Guidall. I can't wait for the next Longmire novel!

What did you love best about Schreiber's Secret?

The murder mystery aspect. The background in the beginning was another aspect that I loved about this book.

Have you listened to any of Nigel Patterson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard Nigel Patterson before & I'm now searching for other titles he's narrated. His performance really kicked the action into high gear. Especially his handling of the German accents. Very compelling storytelling.

I read the book before listening to the audiobook. When I picked up the audiobook as a promotion for my review I was pleasantly surprised by the way it took me out of the book & transported me. Thank you Nigel Patterson for the thrill ride!

If you could sum up Jane and Austen in three words, what would they be?

Young adult fiction!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jane and Austen?

As a whole there really weren't that many memorable moments. I'll say that as a nice romantic, coming of age story that references & parallels the best of Jane Austen ' s books it definitely wins.

What does Andrea Emmes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Andrea brings the charaters to life & her performances of female & male alike are brilliant. If I had read the book her voice would definitely be in my head!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought the story was as pretty similar to most young adult fiction. It's not something I would choose to listen to.

What made the experience of listening to Witch Hearts the most enjoyable?

Andrea Emmes narration. She breathes life into the characters & gives each one a unique voice to match their personality. I'm not a fan of paranormal romances but Ms Emmes performance made it a joy to listen to. She's found a fan in myself & my wife!

What made the experience of listening to The Assassin's Wife: A Thriller the most enjoyable?

The narrator! Kitty Hendrix is an amazing story teller! She keep the pace of a thriller at a breathtaking pace. She makes you keep listening.

I highly recommend anything read by Kitty Hendrix. Even her name exudes rock & roll!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to someone is a fan of noir thrillers such as those by Dashiell Hammett or Mickey Spillane. The action is intense and the story was very well written.

What about Troy Duran’s performance did you like?

Troy Duran's narration was very engaging but not over the top. He brought depth to the characters & played to their strengths. Sometimes I wasn't sure if it was the same narrator! Accents were done tastefully & were not exaggerated or caricatured.
