Historia
Ralph Elllison's Invisible Man is a monumental novel, one that can well be called an epic of modern American Negro life. It is a strange story, in which many extraordinary things happen, some of them shocking and brutal, some of them pitiful and touching—yet always with elements of comedy and irony and burlesque that appear in unexpected places. It is a book that has a great deal to say and which is destined to have a great deal said about it.

must have
Revisado: 05-11-21
the experience of this book being read by Joe Morton rivals a broadway show. you must experience this book and its timeless address of the “invisible man” phenom within society. all the senseless deaths this past year of men of color can be understood in this faulty thinking of systemic racism. its watching a life of a george floyd in the 3rd person. enjoy!

Historia
Marie Sklodowska, 25, is studying science at the Sorbonne—one of the only universities in the world that has begun to admit women. A thousand miles from her native Poland, with no money and the odds stacked against any woman daring to pursue a career in such a rigorous field, Marie throws herself into her studies. She’s certain that to succeed in a man’s world, she will have to go it alone.

Worth an evening
Revisado: 06-15-19
I listened to this book before bed. Its long enough and not too short. The read is captivating and conversational. It does not dwell in any part of her past too long. All the storytelling is relevant and necessary. It was not boring. It is a nice edition to a curriculum because the reader delivers the facts in a way that paints Ms.Curie as a hero. The reader seems to enjoy the story as well, without making the story cartoonish. I recommend this book as a nice vacation read.

We are all here for a purpose. We are more than enough. We just need to believe it. This is a gorgeous, lyrical ode to loving who you are, respecting others, and being kind to one another, from Empire actor and activist Grace Byers. Perfect for mothers and daughters, baby showers, and graduation.

I have the hard copy and audible copy. Love of self has become complicated. Sometimes less is more. Its my new-old approach to joy and teaching joy by example. All occasions and universally appropriate.

Hate Coelhos "new style"
Revisado: 04-30-17
skip this book. does NOT have the wise nor witty writing. does not have the style of Coelho. It is the only book in his collection I would NOT RECOMMEND. Awful. boring. simplistic predictable characters.

Historia
On the occasion of the centenary of Mata Hari's execution for espionage in 1917, Paulo Coelho reconsiders her life and character in a fictional memoir. In a series of letters written from prison on the eve of her death, Mata Hari reflects on the choices she has made to always pursue her own truth - from her childhood in a small Dutch town to unhappy years as the wife of an alcoholic diplomat in Java to her calculated and self-fashioned rise to celebrity in Paris and across Europe as an exotic dancer.

In little more than half a decade, Facebook has gone from a dorm-room novelty to a company with 500 million users. It is one of the fastest growing companies in history, an essential part of the social life not only of teenagers but hundreds of millions of adults worldwide. As Facebook spreads around the globe, it creates surprising effects, even becoming instrumental in political protests from Colombia to Iran.
