Historia
Cradle isn’t over yet. Lindon’s journey may have ended, but there are still more tales to tell. The stories in this collection will show you the world after Cradle, those left behind, and even some legends from long ago. Witness the first Uncrowned King tournament. Visit the Monarchs and their voyages in the lands beyond. Get to know the Abidan in their homes, and meet the people of new worlds as they cross paths with familiar faces. And, of course, check in on some old friends.

Revisado: 03-29-25
Uncrowned is still tied with the last book of Eragon and the Game of Thrones series for worst endings of all time to me. I'll take this blooper over the real thing.

Historia
Silas is growing into the responsibilities weighing him down. Earth is struggling, but there is hope. The deals that Silas has made have brought resources and trainers to Earth. He's helped some leaders gain an understanding of what they will face. His team has continued to grow but now he finds himself facing the greatest challenge to any Forerunner, the Wild Hunt. He'll be hunted but also have to hunt other Forerunners while forging a shaky alliance with those he can't trust. Even more disturbing, it seems like there might be more than one system to choose from.

Probably the best book so far.
Revisado: 11-05-24
If you've come this far, you're invested. And this book does not disappoint. Lots of payoff, especially towards the end, a number of questions answered, and even more presented.
Overall, a great entry into this series. Worth a credit if you enjoyed the last book absolutely.

performance was good.
Revisado: 10-31-24
This story is just... awful. Maybe if you want to read about a Dad that you'll never respect. Or if your idea of a male role model is someone that can't excell at anything. Then yeah, read this. But if that sounds like a bummer, then avoid this.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Weir is back 🙌
Revisado: 01-14-24
So what's the worst part about writing an amazing debut SciFi book and getting it picked up by a movie studio and having Matt Damon play your main character?
Setting the bar too is high. I imagine that's the worst part. Weir comes back in Project Hail Mary in a return to form that is much closer to what we as an audience expect after The Martian. It's a book that stands tall enough to cast a long shadow, and here in Project Hail Mary Weir doesn't disappoint. The book still feels off a bit at times in the third act. and the ending feels... rewritten? I want to say. Tonaly, it feels different than the main body of the story is all I mean. But not in a bad way. I will say, there was a long while where I was expecting an M. Knight Shyamalan "It was all in his head" twist ending and I must say I'm really glad that did not happen.
Overall the book starts out very strong. It sucks you right in. And it does a great job of keeping you there. The style is what we expect from Weir where the protagonist has to use their brain in a very real way to solve the problems of the plot. Project Hail Mary does have more character development than we've come to expect from Weir, and you can tell, a bit, that its still somethibg Weir isn't completely comfortable with. But the performance absolutely carries it through.
Overall I'd recommend it. Especially if you like nerd SciFi books that make you wanna geek out about the coolest stuff in the solar system.

A really fantastic sequel.
Revisado: 01-09-24
The Engineer is kind of a textbook example of a perfect sequel. Characters get more depth, the dynamic characters grow and change in interesting ways. Keeps everything you love, adds some new things you didn't know you wanted.
And Travis Baldree is right in his element here too.
Solid 5 stars. would recommend.

It's like a great comic book series.
Revisado: 11-23-23
there's a bunch of chapters on this one. it's probably good to think of every group of them as an arc or it's own discrete mini adventure. if you think of the story like that it's really good.

Surprisingly Entertaining.
Revisado: 09-21-23
This one is unique. MC's powers aren't really that cookie cutter. And I found myself really enjoying the romance side of it too. It's not just ultra horny wankie spanky bait.
it's a bit light on the Harem, but it is there. and the main plot has enough going for it to be really entertaining. Overall, I did enjoy it, and I'd put this book near the top of the list for entries in the genre.
I am very much looking forward to the next book.

The End of an Era.
Revisado: 06-07-23
Regardless of whether or not you enjoyed Winter steel or not? I think we all can acknowledge that after book eight the series kind of drags out.
It's my opinion that book seven and eight sucked all the life and momentum out of the series. But others enjoyed it so thats personal interpretation.
Overall, it's kind of a bittersweet but still mostly sweet ending. Idk, there's other stuff out there. I'm both glad and sad that this series is over now.
for those getting into it. I'd say it's good, it's worth it. If I had to do it all again I'd say now that all the books are out, it's probably worth it to read them all, and it does have a semi satisfying if it is not also a rushed ending.
I do wish some other choices were made along the way. But here we are at the end. The ending floundered at bit. We can all tell Will's passion for the series is just gone. But, through his apathy you can tell he finished this series as he could for his fans. Which ultimately is commendable.

It's weird and boring.
Revisado: 05-18-23
The world building is like some kind of post modern semi Marxist utopia.
Which was... odd.
And it takes foreverrrrrrr until the story actually starts.
I'll change my rating after I finish this. But so far is super meh.

Don't expect Cradle. It's not that good. There are wayyyyy to many POV's. The story seems to somehow drag and rush at the same time in places.
It's not perfect.
But overall it's still pretty good.
