Historia
As a divided nation plunges into the deepest crisis in its history, Abraham Lincoln boards a train for Washington and his inauguration - an inauguration Southerners have vowed to prevent by any means necessary. Drawing on new research, this account reveals the president-elect as a work in progress, showing him on the verge of greatness, foiling an assassination attempt, and forging an unbreakable bond with the American people.

Wordy but well worth it!
Revisado: 03-11-21
Really enjoyed this book that at times seemed overly long and wordy, but glad I hung in there! Made me do some research on my own which was worth the time it took to get through this. Wouldn’t mind having it in print! Then I could skip around easier to what interested me most!

Conjecture
Revisado: 02-21-21
I understand this Is historical fiction, but with just a bit too much conjecture for me. Maybe I should stick to actual history books, which usually have their own fair share of this. All in all a good read if you can stomach parts of it. Reader alright, but sounded a bit prissy for the part. Still, good job.

I love stories like this, and had heard part of this one before. Thought I would be sorry the story ended in her childhood, but turned out I wasn’t. Well told, suitable for any age. Explains some of our not too clean roots.

I really enjoyed all aspects of this book. Informative, entertaining, well performed. I am 65 years old, and found it a terrifically well told story. Very well written. Can’t say enough good about it! Read several other good ones lately, but this topped them all! The characters are so well formed, top entertainment! Interesting to learn more of other cultures. Always wondered about foot binding.

Historia
Most of the world remembers Crazy Horse as a peerless warrior who brought the U.S. Army to its knees at the Battle of Little Bighorn. But to his fellow Lakota Indians, he was a dutiful son and humble fighting man who, with valor, spirit, respect, and unparalleled leadership, fought for his people's land, livelihood, and honor. In this fascinating biography, Joseph Marshall, himself a Lakota Indian, creates a vibrant portrait of the man, his times, and his legacy.

Learned some new interesting facts...story well told and read. Fell asleep a few tines and lost my place... chapters did not coincide with what I thought I was on. But really liked it. Not audibles fault I start listening too late in the evening. Gave me insights into the Native American heritage.

Historia
In the first and most reliable biography of Daniel Boone in more than 50 years, award-winning historian Faragher brilliantly portrays America's famous frontier hero while illuminating the American hero-making process itself. Drawing from popular narrative, the public record, scraps of documentation from Boone's own hand, and a treasure trove of reminiscences gathered by nineteenth-century antiquarians, Faragher uses the methods of new social history to create a portrait of the man and the times he helped shape.
