Historia
Everything Poppy has ever believed in is a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden. But what she does know is that nothing is as dangerous to her as him. The Dark One. The Prince of Atlantia. He wants her to fight him, and that’s one order she’s more than happy to obey. He may have taken her, but he will never have her.

Better than the 1st book!
Revisado: 05-01-25
Spoilers and theories!
The spice level on this book definitely went up from the last one. I feel like we learn that Casteel’s feelings are real, and Poppy finally lets her guard down and starts leaning into who she is without knowing what she actually is. I don’t trust Alister because whenever he talks to Poppy he tells her something to push her away from Casteel and I’m starting to think he might be the mystery man in Poppy’s dreams, and could possibly be related to Victor? It’s very intriguing about who Poppy really is and the fact that the Wolven could hear her call in the battle makes me very interested to find out who she is. This series has so many more books and I’ll be listening to all of them.

Historia
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Good
Revisado: 04-30-25
It took me a minute to get into this one. I read the Shadow of Ember before this and I definitely liked it better. However, both books have great tension between the FMC and MMC, and both show that death and darkness aren’t always so black and white. (Good vs evil) I like the banter between Poppy and Hawke, and I think they are well matched. The light and the dark just like the shadow of ember. Can’t wait to hear the next book!

Love!
Revisado: 04-28-25
I think I’ve started this series out of order because I guess you’re supposed to read Blood and Ash up until the 3rd book then you read this then the 2 queens. Either way, this was a great book. It’s very much giving Bridge Kingdom vibes but with Gods. The twist at the end explains a lot, not that you were going through the book not knowing what was going on but it tells us what the fates foretold. I love Jen’s books and can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for us. Worth the hype!

In a matter of moments, everything Taly ever thought she knew came crashing down around her. Her mother's spells were broken, her powers unleashed. She's no longer mortal but fey, and every day serves as a reminder that her entire life has been a lie. To make matters worse, Taly has been captured and imprisoned by a woman claiming to be the Time Queen. Her only way home is to play the queen's game and train in the art of time magic. The queen has commanded that she become an Acolyte - a task that could take years to complete.

Just as good as the 1st book!
Revisado: 04-27-25
I am loving this series! I love the unique story and magic system, and I love the humor. The FMC is giving Aelin Galathynius and her journey of finding herself through love and friendship along the way. The MMC is giving Slade and Rowan in his search for the girl he loves and his family supporting him to find her. You love all the characters you are supposed to love and hate the ones you’re supposed to hate. I guess we don’t get the full aspect of why some characters are the way they are, but we still don’t fully know the full picture of what this world is dealing with. I highly recommend this series, especially if you liked TOG and the Plated Prisoner series. Happy listening!

Historia
On Tempris, time magic is outlawed, and suspected time mages are hunted. Humans are second-class citizens, shunned by the immortal fey that live on the island. They even have a name for their kind: Shardless. Taly is one of the lucky humans. Taken in by a fey noble and his family, she's lived a good life, surrounded by people she loves. But when an accidental brush with magic causes her to see things - ghostly apparitions that give her small glimpses into the future - it has deadly consequences. The Sanctorum has returned to the island, and if they find her, they'll kill her.

Love!
Revisado: 04-26-25
I don’t even know how I came upon this book but what a happy accident. 1st the narrator was awesome she is the voice of the Throne of Glass series so it’s a good book to get you through the reading slump after reading throne of glass. The magic in the book is really cool and I love the trope of best friends finding deeper feelings for each other. Skye has instantly become one of my favorite book boyfriends. He gives Rhysand vibes and Davin vibes from Lochlann Deception. Bad ass main characters, with humor, and a loving family will have you laughing and crying. Acolyte here I come!

Loved!
Revisado: 04-09-25
SPOILERS!
This book had me laughing and crying. I was very nervous about how this story was going to end because Kai is one of my top book boyfriends. This book did not disappoint. Our silver savior has always been a cockroach and her drive for survival is why we love her so much, and Kai has been her match in every way. I love that their banter devotion remained and that Kitt and Kai’s brotherly love never wavered. This whole time I didn’t trust Kitt because he could see and knew that Kai loved Pae and he still married her. I understand why, but the whole time you’re wondering when the other shoe will drop. The things that came to light because of Edric’s POV made the twists more believable, and made us understand Kitt more. There are full circle moments with all the stories that have brought us to this book and I’m just really happy with how it ended.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

It’s a Yes for me
Revisado: 04-07-25
I’m not sure why people don’t like this book but I loved it. How could you not love Kai and Pae? She reminds me of Celena from throne of glass and he’s Dorian. I mean they dance together to tell each other their secrets. I don’t know how it gets more sweet than that. Especially when one of them is the kings enforcer. I recommend this series to everyone and I’m relistening to the series before the final book comes out.

Entertaining
Revisado: 04-04-25
This hooked me from the beginning and kept me entertained the whole time. The FMC is a badass with a heart of gold. We still don’t have a full idea of who she really is but that’s 1/2 the fun. I thought both narrators were good and I’ll definitely continue the series.

Live like love
Revisado: 03-27-25
I almost love this love story more than Lou and Reed’s story, I have a soft spot for vampires and 1000 year old men. The cameos of all our favorite characters and the found family reminds me of the Lunar Chronicles series. I’m invested, and if Shelby wants to write about Filippa finding love I’d eat it up.
