a masterpiece of intrigue Terror and mystery

Both the author and the narrator provide us with hours of suspense, intrigue, mystery, and Terror, in this bloody mythological thriller based on events that occurr in and around The Prado Museum in Madrid.

The narrator brings the story to life and the author reveals his keen knowledge of mythology and art history, and his ability to weave a tale that will keep you awake at night.

the title of this book, as vulgar as it is, caught my attention otherwise I probably would not have listened to it. the Final Chapter called Sunny Side of death made all worthwhile

resolution of the argument left in the air

I enjoyed listening to this book. The author has her own unique style. Frequently tells the same event from several persons' points of view.

Sometimes a bit verbose.

Eventually you'll catch on that the beauty of the book is in the character development not in the story itself which in the end doesn't even seem to be resolved the way when one would expect.

disappointing and simplistic

This is a very short novel which deals in a simplified diluted and somewhat abrupt fashion with just a few of the main events in the lives of the characters. There is very little attempt at character development and little attention to time, or setting. The author makes an awkward attempt at eroticism. I would not recommend this book as an example of quality literature by any means.

worth the time to listen

Lots of suspects and perhaps too many characters are all connected to, or trying to solve a murder committed 20 years earlier.  The case was actually closed and considered solved even though the accused died in in a traffic accident while being pursued by the police. The case is reopened when Stephanie Mailer stumbles upon information pertinent to the murder.


Although my first language is English, this audio book in Spanish managed to keep my attention until the very end.


Definitely worth the time to listen and very well narrated. One must pay very close attention to the jumping back and forth  from one decade to another.
