Historia
Vega Jones escapes an abusive relationship with nothing but her two-month-old baby and the van she grew up in. Her destination is a small Ohio town her late vagabond mother left years ago. It’s one full of nobodies, her mother warned. That makes it the ideal refuge for Vega to lie low, feel safe, and maybe learn more about a past her mother never spoke of.

Have You Ever Been to Ohio?
Revisado: 12-30-22
First of all, those thick southern accents used were very misplaced with these Midwest characters. Second I feel like this book was a, how many taboo woke topics can we squeeze into one book. Third, I have loved everything I have read by this author, but it seemed she ran short of ideas here because she repeated a handful of phrases over and over and over again. Do a word search and you'll find them.

This book felt like what we are currently living minus the computer entity. The corrupt government and the corrupt media treating the people like sheep.

Heartbreaking Tale
Revisado: 09-07-21
I loved this book. My heart broke for nearly every character involved with Sally. Sally is such a strong character. All the saints placed in her path were special and I appreciate the follow up on their lives after Sally.

Historia
A body always tells a story - but this child’s was a blank page. Rita reached for the lantern. She trained its light on the child’s face. "Who are you?" she murmured, but the face said as little as the rest of her. It was impossible to tell whether, in life, these blunt and unfinished features had borne the imprint of prettiness, timid watchfulness, or sly mischief. If there had once been curiosity or placidity or impatience here, life had not had time to etch it into permanence. Only a very short time ago, the body and soul of this little girl had still been securely attached.

Diane Setterfield is an artist with words. Well done once again. The audible reader is one of my most favorite. I highly recommend this book and if you want it to be even more magical, listen to the audio book version.

I loved this book. It isn't a genre I typically read, and some of the extremely detailed descriptions seemed frivolous at the time, but they were necessary. This was wonderfully read and wonderfully written. Well done!

Rushed ending and sentences with no period.
Revisado: 01-27-17
The reader of this never took a breath. One sentence ran into the next making it difficult to decipher who was speaking. The author did a good job building up to a climax, then rushed the story to finish within a chapter. I feel like it deserved more.
