Historia
Millions of people visit xkcd.com each week to read Randall Munroe's iconic webcomic. His stick-figure drawings about science, technology, language, and love have a large and passionate following. Fans of xkcd ask Munroe a lot of strange questions. What if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90 percent of the speed of light? How fast can you hit a speed bump while driving and live? If there were a robot apocalypse, how long would humanity last?

amazing performance.
Revisado: 04-07-24
beyond the beautifully detailed absurdity surrounding the main premise and idea, Wil Wheton delivered the an upmost compelling rendition. His ability to spark excitement and flawless dictation entirely added an edge to the commentary that I didn't know i needed. well done, I will probably pick this one up occasionally as a fun buffer between books.

Sand, salt, iron, copper, oil, and lithium. These fundamental materials have created empires, razed civilizations, and fed our ingenuity and greed for thousands of years. Without them, our modern world would not exist, and the battle to control them will determine our future. In Material World, Ed Conway embarks on an epic journey across continents, cultures, and epochs to reveal the underpinnings of modern life on Earth—traveling from the sweltering depths of the deepest mine in Europe to spotless silicon chip factories in Taiwan to the eerie green pools where lithium originates.

well researched and written.

I appreciated the thoroughness of how the very well researched information was presented. it was engaging at times, but also very dry.

cuts with both hands
Revisado: 01-24-23
This book did a great job mixing general capability and his story. his career path combined with experience and how it all played within the construct of Intelligence was both informative and exciting.
This was the first time I had the pleasure of hearing about the hunt for UBL before 9/11 and the initial ops in Afghanistan before Iraq and DoD took the wheel
I enjoyed this book, and will most likely listen again sometime in the future.

Historia
The media often suggest that Russia poses the greatest threat to America's national security, but the real danger lies farther east. While those in power have been distracted and disorderly, China has waged a six-front war on America's economy, military, diplomacy, technology, education, and infrastructure - and they're winning. It's almost too late to undo the shocking, though nearly invisible, victories of the Chinese. In Stealth War, retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Spalding reveals China's motives and secret attacks on the West.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Eriee and I loved it.
Revisado: 07-30-20
the suspense was literally crushing me sometimes especially when I had no choice but to put it down. the story went a totally different direction then I expected it too.
I still feel like this book set up for a sequel thats way way better. it seemed more like a really long preamble and would definitely make a great limited series.
the voice actor did a damn good job bringing all the Characters to life, even the women.

different but interesting
Revisado: 03-03-20
it's not a book, it's a graphic novel that's acted out by an outstanding cast. everyone did an amazing job. that is except the lady that plays bodie... shes annoying af.
the story is cool, and unlike a book where you build the world around you with the words. this audio version acts it with sounds and music. it's very similar to that of a tv show. (not the locke and key show, that's vastly different).
