Historia
This is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.

Great story dreadful voiceover
Revisado: 02-25-22
The story is amazing. If you don't mind slow pace you would really enjoy this book. However, the reader was definitely not up to task... Bernard sounded like an evil rat from a bad childrens cartoon. Other male characters just sounded like dorks... I hope that this gets re recorded, so others would ve able to actually enjoy the book and take it seriously.

Historia
In this 1962 classic, a novelistic exploration of modern crime and punishment, Alex is the 15-year-old leader of his gang of "droogs" thriving in the ultraviolent future as prophetically imagined by Burgess. Speaking a bizarre Russian-derived slang, Alex and his friends freely pillage and slash their way across a nightmarish urban landscape until Alex is captured by the judicial arm of the state. He then becomes their prized guinea pig in a scientific program to completely "redeem" him for society.

A great book with amazing plot

I have to say that I have never watched the movie till the end, the violent scenes on screen didn't sit well with me. But the book was incredible.
At first it seemed a bit boring. One violent event after another... And I cought myself thinking- is that it? But as the story progressed I got hooked. I couldn't steeer away, especially after Alex gets stood up by his gang and gets sent to prison. The only negative remark I have is that the Russian slang was not pronounced right. It was hard at first to even make out what words narrator uses. However, if you know Russian and you have a good ear for accents than it gets less annoying.
