I heard people complain about it but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt but Holy Moly that is the worse voice acting i have heard in awhile. There are many ways to do a high pitched voice for comedy but the route this actor took makes me want to avoid any book he narrates like the plague

Beware the dumb forced ending character choices

This forced battle within follows the cliche of betrayal and annoying plot device of pushing a character towards the edge in a dumb lazy way. Need some tension? Introduce a pedal that the author can push to make up some useless forced choices that foes against who a character is. Bs

Jack of trades master of none and disappointment

Jack is a jack ass, but that aside the most interesting thing in the book happens off screen and in its replace we get a jack who doesnt know if he should be support and damage dealer. The series started off as setting jack up to he amazing but got pushed to the side and stan should be the mc. The writers let stan diversify and focus on all of it while they gave jack the excuse of “im just so busy i cant heal and grow and experiment with my runes” meanwhile Stan can Cook, smith, fight, help everywhere and still be fine. After seeing reviews for the next book i think Im done with the series. Its just too disappointing and wash rinses and repeats monotony

Great but terrible assassin

Great story but for an heir of assassins this is the worst assassin i have read about in a long while. Loud, talks to their opponents and tells them all their info. And doesnt know anything about “if you get caught then you might as well reveal everything since they know who you are now. Atleast make him actually train to be a better one or just have his servant take over

Dull witted and uselessly long inner thoughts

The mc is way too slow witted and has turned into basic john doe with no personality. In one part he pointlessly talks about how he feels bad about humanity but it just sounds like one long wishy washy whiney bull shit that is just hypocritical. He didnt feel bad, he just felt ashamed but kept harping on it and irked me immensely.
I love the slow world building but the mc is written too poorly.
Also really tired of these books being the land of the white.

Great story with some nauseating plot holes

Book1-2 The mc is a complete dumb ass. I really hate the trope of “you’re in danger but i will make you not want to research any way to grow protect yourself”.
You’d think that would be priority number two after surviving multiple attacks but NOPE. Its aggravating. Id be okay with everything if the author atleast added the impulse to learn how to protect his loved ones while everything else remains the same but at this rate its just a fun erotic book in between annoying dumb willful ignorance.

Book 3 overall hectic but weird call backs to explain why certain choices were made and brushed off since any and all common sense would have everyone focus on learning and protection but now that they are on track, they are hit with constant attacks and chaos so it gets pretty frustrating. Fun story but the author really knows how to piss you off by getting you so worried about all the characters.
Book 3 chapter has places where it skips around so its a bit annoying.
Mike is still a lazy dumb ass or is at-least written that way still with no progress.

This section felt so forced and dumb. I get an error needed to be displayed but could have gotten to it naturally rather than having her do out of character things to justify the next thing. Its like when a dm forces a story plot on the players that completely takes them out of it.

Inane and just run on sentences to pad time and waste paper

The reasoning that they give this character is extremely dumb and goes back and forth. For an ild mage he acts pretty dumb and most of the time the sentences are run on ways of saying the same thing.
“I could have done this but that got in the way. So to do This let me explain how that got in the way and tell you that this would have been possible if that didnt exist” bull shit. And then the killing. The killing is fine but when you kill because you dont want people who already know your face and what you are doing to find out what you look like, theres a few too many screws loose with that logic. Make it make sense. I think ill stop with this series here unless i get hella bored someday.

Sweet sweet cocoa goodness.
Aleron 2.0 constantly improving. Was shocked with some of the words but was extremely excited with the grit and outcome and world building.
Haters are gonna hate, so keep doing what you love and keep moving forward
