Davina's inflections at Diana's brilliant chaptering, the final phrases of each are exquisite, leaving me damp of eye. What a pairing these two unforgettable ladies make! With subsequent reading or listening, the reader or audience becomes more cognizant of details missed in first readings. To quote Ms Gabaldon, "There is more!"

Sam's Waypoints

Moving. So touching, Sam's courage to share emotions about his father. I got his underlying feeling of embarrassment as a child and even as an adult....guilt even. Such a deep trauma. Such a very sad reconnection at his father's last days. Loved his openess about his experiences as a boy at school, a young student and wild times. You are you Sam and nobody else. I wish you only the love of your own home made family and taking time to yourself. So enjoyed your book and your own narration. Only missed a PDF with photos in the hardback.

DG's Ninth!

Oh no! William! So love reading the William/ Jaimie saga! Miserable as both Audibles, this and The Almanac completed today, first day of 2022!😒 Now have a long wait for DG's 10th book and may not survive. Also very saddened by the utterly brilliant Davina Porter's last narration. Brava Davina for all the character voices. Just incomparable! Davina is beyond genius! Rest well Davina. Diana, thank you for much joy, many tears and unrequited arousal in my 77th year!

So enjoyed my second listening of The Almanac! Sam and Graham once again great company! Wonderful narration and personal stories. Feel sad it has ended but maybe appropriately on first footing day of 2022! Slaínte!

Found this one somewhat boring. Sort of supetfluous. Rather purchase another in the series. A Scottish Prisoner was very good.

Voyager....A Must Listen or Read

An exciting, fast paced listen or read. Heroism, passion, tension, mysticism, eroticism, and to top it all, unexpected spluttering laughter at Diana Gabaldon's unique sense of humour. An author like no other!

I enjoyed the back story of Jaimie and Iain's close early friendship, their tribulations, side by side battles and adventures. Once more, a woman, Diana Gabaldon, has surpassed herself in the accounting of young male virgins' sexual curiosity. Oft times their battles fearsome, but true to her style, much hilarity as well.

Second Time

Let it be written, the second time round is even more enjoyable, deeper, funnier and "warmer" than the first!
Like travelling with two, close male friends, one shares more auditory intimacy. Picking up on the nuances, humour and facts of their adventure, one is able to share in their deep love of the Highlands, their camaraderie and nitpicking. The verbal jousting never lets up! Thank you Sam, thank you Graham. You are indeed counted as my dearest friends. Keenly awaiting 14 February when Men in Kilts is debuting on Starz! Sláinte!
