Historia
Against all odds, Constance has found a way back to the place of her origins, New York City in the late 1800s, and sets off on a quest to prevent the events that lead to the deaths of her sister and brother, and stop Manhattan’s most infamous serial killer, Dr. Enoch Leng of the seminal Pendergast novel The Cabinet of Curiosities, before his nefarious experiments come to fruition.

It doesn’t actually end
Revisado: 05-10-24
Wtf. It literally ends in the middle of the story. It’s as if they were up against a deadline and simply stopped at the end of a chapter. No way I’m paying again to find out the real ending. Save your money

Historia
When Marilyn Kleinman is caught making out with the rabbi’s son in front of the whole congregation, her parents ship her off to her great-aunt Ada for the summer. If anyone can save their daughter’s reputation, it’s Philadelphia’s strict premier matchmaker. Either that or Marilyn can kiss college goodbye. To Marilyn’s surprise, Ada’s not the humorless septuagenarian her mother described. Not with that platinum-blonde hair, Hermès scarf, and Cadillac convertible. She’s sharp, straight-talking, takes her job very seriously, and abides by her own rules…mostly.

Outstanding listen
Revisado: 02-02-24
One of the best audio books I’ve heard in eons. Fabulous narrator, characters I wish I could have lunch with, and an ending I didn’t see coming.

Historia
No new people: that's Annie Mercer's vow. It's bad enough that her boss sabotaged her chemistry career and her best friend tried to cure her with crystals. But after her fiancé, Jon, asks for space while he's gallivanting around Paris, Annie decides she needs space too - from everyone. Yet when Harper moves in next door, Annie can't help but train a watchful eye on the glamorous but fragile young woman. And if keeping Harper safe requires teaming up with Mo, a maddeningly optimistic amateur detective, who is she to mind her own business?

A good listen
Revisado: 06-02-21
Overall this was a good listen. The narrator is excellent. Her voice carries throughout the novel, even the draggy parts. The plot is obvious but the characters are well developed and highly amusing. If you want a sweet and uncomplicated listen, you’ll enjoy this one.

I liked the narrator
Revisado: 07-14-20
Some have criticized the narrator in earlier editions of this character. I like her a lot.
