Historia
Richard Bresler was Rorion Gracie's first student in LA, and is widely recognized as the first student of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in the US. His memoir, Worth Defending, chronicles his over 40 years' involvement with the Gracie family and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, including the almost 20 years he spent working closely alongside Rorion helping to grow Jiu-Jitsu through the Gracie Garages, the challenge matches, the founding of the Gracie Academy, and the inception of the UFC.

Such an insightful book.

It’s awesome learning about the Gracie’s early days in the United states from someone who was there & doesn’t share their last name. Along with that this book gives you a detailed history about BJJ's early days in the United states. Both of those aside; Richard Breslers story is amazing in itself. Early on in the book you just kind of feel bad for him with his self esteem issues & drug use and you're just cheering for him to overcome those obstacles in his life. By the end of the book you see him a strong & dynamic individual. His arc is startling & inspiring. Read this book if you train Jiu-Jitsu. Read this book if you are thinking about training Jiu-Jitsu. Read this book if you've never even heard of Jiu Jitsu. Highly recommend it.

Not as good as the first book.

This book really doesn’t get going until the third part. Not as captivating or as intriguing as Sapiens.

Not what I expected but still excellent.

I thought this was just going to be the original script that they took the story from to make the movie. The other two stories are awesome as well. Great find.
