Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Perfect for Entrepreneurs
Revisado: 02-28-21
I know this review might seem off topic, but as someone who has spent 8 years in the startup world, the struggles of entrepreneurship are really the struggles of vulnerability. This lecture has perfectly reflected the nuance and reasons for the struggles I’ve seen my colleagues and I go through. It has also helped illustrate how to overcome those struggles.

I hoped for better
Revisado: 11-13-18
I bought this book because of the introduction by Nassim Taleb and could not be more disappointed. While the topics themselves are interesting and the author lived through fascinating times, the writing was so dry and devoid of color and richness that I often found myself bored. He also went into too much detail about the trivial while glossing over the richest opportunities. The narration was awful, with a staccato worse than William Shatner.

Innovation is the subject of countless books and courses, but there's very little out there about how you actually innovate. Innovation and entrepreneurship are not one and the same, although aspiring innovators often think of them that way. They are told to get an idea and a team and to build a show-and-tell for potential investors. In Innovating, Luis Perez-Breva describes another approach.

Insightful but too academic
Revisado: 06-02-17
The concept of becoming less wrong was an insightful twist that has helped me in my work. Looking at everything I do and use as parts has helped frame my vocabulary and thinking in a new and far more effective way. But the word choice and sentence structure made this incredibly hard to follow. The writing style is very academic and formal, which translated very poorly to an audio book.

Historia
In The Black Swan Taleb outlined a problem, and in Antifragile he offers a definitive solution: how to gain from disorder and chaos while being protected from fragilities and adverse events. For what Taleb calls the "antifragile" is actually beyond the robust, because it benefits from shocks, uncertainty, and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension. The antifragile needs disorder in order to survive and flourish. Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, even necessary, and proposes that things be built in an antifragile manner.

Angry and accurate writer
Revisado: 08-05-16
The author has a major chip on his shoulder. Though the material is fascinating, his anger turns the tone so sour that listening to the book became difficult and I had to only listen for thirty minutes at a time. Regarding the substance, brilliant and saddening. His rather accurate explanations are both relieving and saddening.

Interesting but hard to follow
Revisado: 07-31-15
The ideas sound great, and I hope to implement them in my life. But the way he explains his ideas is very hard to follow. I would prefer a more relatable
way of explaining the ideas, meeting me half way with more examples and intellectual explanations. It was all a bit too mystical for me. Which is frustrating, because the ideas sound powerful and helpful.

Thoughtful and densely written. A must read.
Revisado: 03-01-15
I needed to listen to this three times to fully grasp the content due to how densely written it is. The content itself was extremely helpful for understanding different phenomena I've seen in business.
