Historia
As a sixteen-year-old, Tessa Cartwright was found in a Texas field, barely alive amid a scattering of bones, with only fragments of memory as to how she got there. Ever since, the press has pursued her as the lone surviving “Black-Eyed Susan”, the nickname given to the murder victims because of the yellow carpet of wildflowers that flourished above their shared grave. Tessa’s testimony about those tragic hours put a man on death row.

A North Texas Thriller!
Revisado: 04-12-16
Excellent psychological thriller set in North Texas. I laughed many times at the wonderfully authentic Texas references. This book was well-paced, suspenseful, and satisfying. No grotesque torture descriptions or hyper-focus on gory details of the main character's physical suffering. I read tons of thrillers and I could NOT guess where this book was going. I usually don't like time hopping books, but it worked in this novel without sacrificing present imminence and danger. Will be looking for more books by this author.

Challenging in all the right ways.
Revisado: 03-06-16
Bill Johnson stretches me, but I have yet to hear him say anything that doesn't come straight from scripture. The way he thinks challenges me to actually know God instead of know ABOUT God. His books are not for lukewarm Christians. They are for people with grit and guts who want to push aside doubt and fear and experience God in all his wonder.

Historia
A revival environment creates increasing levels of joy, freedom, and peace. These qualities will only remain to the degree that we can protect our relationships with one another. The practice of honor is often a lost art in our modern culture. The Lord is restoring the value and practice of honor in His house. Our churches and homes will only be as strong as they are free. Restoring a culture of honor to our communities and nation will come as the Church embraces this call.

Sermon Alert
Revisado: 02-29-16
Do not blow a credit on this. It's just a sermon, not the book as is advertised (which is not very honorable IMO.)
The Culture of Honor line of thinking is great if you are the person who screwed up and desires everyone around you to focus on the good parts of you. In my experience the COH thinking blinded church leaders and made it easy for sin to colonize their own staff. Tons of innocent people were deeply wounded by the lack of discernment and aversion to confrontation. COH thinking should be used with aggressive accountability or it's a slap in the face to those victimized by someone else's sin.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Worth a credit if you are a Baldacci fan. The story carries and the main character will be fun to follow in future novels.
