Historia
Cyrus Shams is a young man grappling with an inheritance of violence and loss: his mother’s plane was shot down over the skies of the Persian Gulf in a senseless accident; and his father’s life in America was circumscribed by his work killing chickens at a factory farm in the Midwest.

Original, profound, lovely
Revisado: 04-02-25
Depth dark and deep, and yet just as lovely and impactful. Truly one of the best books I’ve had the pleasure of going through in a long while.

It's a conflicted time in Kurald Galain, the realm of Darkness, where Mother Dark reigns. But this ancient land was once home to many a power...and even death is not quite eternal. The commoners' great hero, Vatha Urusander, is being promoted by his followers to take Mother Dark's hand in marriage, but her Consort, Lord Draconus, stands in the way of such ambitions. The impending clash sends fissures throughout the realm.

Things falling into place
Revisado: 05-02-22
Probably my favorite in the series so far. So many things fall into place from the main series where confusion may have still lingered. In addition, as usual, you get fascinating new characters and ideas to contemplate. For sure a bit of a cliff hanger in this one, but worth it because not only do we get something to look forward to, but this one is filled with enough entertainment to keep you satisfied. Only reason I didn’t give the reader 5 stars is he utilizes different pronunciation for certain characters and races in the book from the other audibles in the series. Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Simply Wonderful
Revisado: 06-20-21
Favorite book in the series thus far. Sure, it's rough having a new narrator thrown in to start, but if you can get over that, this one does still do a good job and the story and characters are simply wonderful. Dark, fascinating and brilliantly written, you're I'm for a treat!

Historia
Alan Moore channels both the ecstatic visions of William Blake and the theoretical physics of Albert Einstein through the hardscrabble streets and alleys of his hometown of Northampton, UK. In the half a square mile of decay and demolition that was England's Saxon capital, eternity is loitering between the firetrap housing projects. Embedded in the grubby amber of the district's narrative, among its saints, kings, prostitutes, and derelicts, a different kind of human time is happening.

Incredible.

My two recommendations are to listen/read this book immediately and to get a translation online to help understand the Lucia section when you get to it.
