Shallow macho BS. Two dimensional character with a lot of so what?

Gotta say, it leads like this is really how it was/is but it is a lame effort at a hard boiled crime novel full of 2D stereotypes and unnecessary machismo. Sounds more like a mall rent a cop talking to his out of work high school buddies over a Hamms in his parents back yard where he still lives. Everyone he sees in the “hood” is a hooker, a john, an addict or a criminal. Nothing at all happens but he sure is glad he brought us back up piece and the extra ammo because you know, terrorism. In Philly. Waste of time.

A post apocalyptic story that focuses on society rather than guns or peepers

I like the genre a lot but am always putting down the stories that are all about the weapons, the heroic militia types that rationalize getting and keeping theirs. To hell with all those suckers who didn’t build a bunker. This story is nuanced, sometimes a bit overly dramatic, but weaves a complicated story with multiple characters with some rich science fiction blurring into real science today.

Forget to turn up the volume...

I rarely write reviews but this is that lame. The poor readers trying to create drama out of the rocket scientist jet pilot heroes forgetting to plug things in, suck in their gut or turn up the volume on a radio is just pathetic. Unreal. I am quitting but I want my life back.

Exclamation points are exhausting

Basically this is a high concept story that was delivered in a way over the top writing and reading style. I don't blame the reader because there probably was an exclamation point at the end of every sentence. No character development and an endless series of events that were imminent life or death moments that became a boring blur of who cares who dies in whatever gruesome way. I won't go see the blockbuster movie it was trying to be written as. Did you see Godzilla in the 90's?

Should be titled "So you got shot as a kid, get over it."

I got sucked in by the set up and the snippet in the sample was misleading. It reads like a cheap romance novel where the dramatic highlights need to be repeated ad naseum in an effort to make you care at all. But then wait, let's talk about our meal forever... Whatever. Jack Reacher would have rolled right on through this town. Might have shot her himself just to thin the herd.

The reader has talent for sure. Great accents. I would search her out except that I was tricked so badly by the sample...

Awesome perspective.

Very engaging and stimulating content. Question everything. A good practice and well laid out. I highly recommend it to anyone considering sex or judging anyone else's sexual life.
