Historia
When Harper Fontaine is framed for a crime she didn’t commit, her father uproots her from her life in New York City to move into his mansion in wealthy Newport, Rhode Island. It doesn’t take long before Harper is invited to join the town’s elite secret society, the Order of Six. But membership has a price: first, she must prove herself by surviving the Order’s trials. Harper tries to keep her head down, but in a place like Newport, staying out means standing out.

Enoyable journey, abrupt ending
Revisado: 05-19-24
I really enjoyed the plot and build up. The twist was a bit predictable but still good. I don't love cliffhangers and this ending felt very cookie cutter cliffhanger to me. Overall was enjoyable and the characters were likeable.

I never wanted this life. My dreams were simple—love, and maybe college. But now I'm bound to Bobby, the Mafia King of Chicago. He both terrifies and captivates me. So why does every touch from him send my heart pounding like a war drum?

Overall engaging and enjoyable
Revisado: 04-19-24
The build up between the MFC and MMC was perfect. A few of the sex scenes felt rushed but most of them were overall satisfying. I enjoyed the mafia aspects balanced with the relationship plot. The twist of character betrayal was believable but felt a bit rushed. I would've enjoyed a more drawn out version of that storyline. I enjoyed the story and would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a mafia romance.

Historia
As the receptionist at a cozy B&B nestled in the mountains, I'd heard rumors that the owner is a mysterious billionaire. Turns out he's Alex Mason, the hot football player from high school whom I couldn’t get over. He appears out of nowhere, my teen-dream in the flesh. Big muscles, slick tattoos, and a beard that could make a nun rethink her life choices. He demands a room. But it's spring break, and we're fully booked. With the 'No Vacancy' sign burning bright, I've got no choice but to offer to share mine. Just for one night, he assures.

Awkward Romance
Revisado: 04-17-24
The plot here was lacking information and felt a bit rushed. I didn't feel connected or committed to the couple. There were times when Alex's inner dialog was trying to be controlling and possessive in a sexy way and could have been done in a way that felt charismatic and alluring, but it mostly felt like he was lacking respect for Emily or thought of her as less than himself. The sex scenes were awkward and rushed. My least favorite part of this book was the narration. The male narrator didn't pronounce things correctly (example: Infinity was Infinini) and the number of times they say "bed [pause] and breakfast", had me chuckling by the end. I did get a few good laughs out of this book, which gave it an extra star.
