It could have been better. More sex than I would prefer. The story so far is pretty typical of this kind of books. Alpha male, slightly strong heroine with weak moments & a lot of sex. Luckily it wasn't long & stretched out.

Narrator Ruined It

Just Blah

The narrator men & women characters sometimes sounded the same. The story was ok. I was borderline of asking for my credit back. But it wasn't bad just not a book that I would listen to often or ever again actually.

Nice listen

The author did a great job reading her book. I normally don't buy books under 8 hours but the reviews got me interested. I think I probably should have paid the cash price instead of using the credit. With that said it was a good book but I wouldn't say great. There were sex scenes maybe one too many for a five hour book but not bad. The story line was ok. I am looking forward to the others books in the series and hoping their just a little bit longer with more substinance.

40 Year Old Child

I haven't returned a book in over two years but I'm really considering it. The only thing that made this book was the narration and the alpha male. The female is 40 years old and through the majority of the book she is childish...well she didn't seem like she was 40. I got so tired of listening to her that I mainly fast forwarded until finally I was done with the book. While the premise was good the female character was lacking. I will not be continuing this series but will continue to be a KA fan.

Happy I Used A Credit

1. Some people complained about Josie speech. If you like the Harlequin old english type books kind of speech then this will not irritate you. She is very proper and speaks old english so yes there are some "thus" and "indeed", but not enough to irritate. 2. The narrator to me was fine. I could tell the difference between the characters and no ones voice was just too bad. 3. The story itself was pretty good, not too predictable, not too smutty but gives you just enough. 4. There were some bad guys but not any real violence. 5. The alpha male wasn't too overbearing which is good to me because I can only take so much of that. 6. The main female character while she has her submissive old fashion ways she is still strong and frequently speaks up which I appreciated. It seemed more real that way where some of these book makes the woman so week that well you start wishing it to be over...quickly.
This book is 23 hours long and I will admit that I finished it in 2 days which means that I lost a lot of sleep. But it was well worth the credit. If you liked "Breathe" by Ashley then this book may be what you are looking for.

Hard to believe

The only reason I didn't return this book was because the narrator was really good. I didn't listen to the books in order and by listening to past books they led me to believe that Nina was a strong woman. She had strong moments...well...actually kind of stupid moments, that someone less aggressive may think of as strong. I found the Alpha character to be irritating to say the least and hard to like most of the time. If you were stranded in a small town knowing people are kind of crazy now a days would you really allow complete strangers control???? Really??? Out of all the books this was my least favorite. I would recommend...Breathe, Lady Luck, and Sweet Dreams. Which all portrayed Nina as being strong...she's a lawyer so you would think so but she was only strong w/business. When it came to protecting her friends but when it came to her she rarely had a backbone in my opinion but then again I'm a more dominate female so well.

Just Not Enough

When I think of dominatrix I think of a much stronger character in a female. The main female character lived a dual life which was fine regarding careers but personality I would have preferred her to be dominating in both. When you read dominating books w/males dominating they rule in their professional and love life. If you are looking for that I would not recommend this book. If you are looking for a love story w/a little bit of kink this may satisfy you.
