Not much substance - just ok
Revisado: 05-07-20
I LOVE the Virgin River Series and the Grace Valley series. The other Sullivan’s Crossing books are pretty good, but this book didn’t offer too much. I was disappointed because I think Robyn Carr is a wonderful writer, but this book just didn’t do anything for me. There was not much story to latch on to. The narrator, Therese Plummer, is always excellent.

Loved the story - not the narrator
Revisado: 05-07-20
This was the first book I read by this author and I really enjoyed it. When I saw that it was now offered on Audible, I immediately added the title to my library. Unfortunately I did not listen to the sample before I purchased it. I couldn’t get past the first chapter and I’m so disappointed. There are so many great narrators, but this is not one of them.

Long and Depressing
Revisado: 07-04-19
I decided to take a chance on the book despite having read mixed reviews. The book is long and depressing. The main character was the most insecure person and not very likable.
The female narrator was not very interesting. I’m sorry I wasted a credit on this book.

Painful plot twist but ends with a HEA
Revisado: 04-24-18
I really loved this book. Parker, Gus and Levi were so appealing, all having their strong and weak points. I felt Parker's struggle to make a life for herself and find happiness after her sister's betrayal. I don't think finally forgiving her sister was strange, especially after she considered herself a cheater, too. I loved Gus. He was in love with his wife although she had fallen out of love with him. He was so appealing and so lonely. Levi wanted to find his true love and he did.
Was the twist in the middle painful - absolutely. I hated it too, but I wondered if Gus and Parker would have survived anyway. However, there was a happily ever after and I was happy it turned out the way it did.
The narration was great. I did not realize the book was available on Audible so I read the book first, then listened to the story again. I'm so glad I did. I wish more books were available on Audible for Jewel E. Ann books!

LOVED the Story - hated the narrator
Revisado: 03-21-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend the book series to friends, but not sure I could recommend the audio-book. I read the books first and then bought the audio-book. The male narrator took away from the pleasure of listening to one of my favorite series.
What other book might you compare American Prince to and why?
The Submission Series by C.D. Reiss which is another wonderful series based on D/s.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He read very slowly as though he was reading to a group of children, and his voice change-over for characters was not done well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The wedding - before and after. It was obvious that all Greer, Ash and Embry loved each other.
Any additional comments?
Sebastian York, Joe Arden, or Zachery Webber would have been a wonderful narrator for the books.

Historia
Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

Absolutely Charming!
Revisado: 09-18-17
This is the first book I have read by the author. The story is so appealing. I quickly became "involved" with the characters in the book, especially Jake. The narrators were wonderful. I will definitely continue listening to the remainder of the series.

Did Nora Roberts really write this?
Revisado: 06-14-17
What would have made Come Sundown better?
Needs a cohesive story line. If this is a rewrite of an earlier published book, shame on her.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not sure - maybe a book by Lee Child.
What didn’t you like about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance?
She made the men sound like they were talking in slow motion, on top of making them sound not very bright.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The pulling together as a family was nice.
Any additional comments?
I did not care for Alice. If I had known the book was going to center around a 25 year abduction and recovery, I would never have purchased the book.
