Historia
Cass Clereaux is good at two things: finding treasure and killing demons. Lying low is a close third - but not because she wants to be good at hiding. Cass is a FireSoul, one of the unlucky few to inherit a piece of a dragon's soul. On the surface, the perks are sweet - she has the power to find and steal any type of magical treasure, including the powers of other supernaturals. But it doesn't come without a price; stealing powers requires that she kill, and others would destroy her if they discover what she is.

A Teen Paranormal Fantasy Romance Series,
Revisado: 12-11-16
What would have made Ancient Magic better?
the series is easy to listen to for those who like predictable simple stories. using magic to circumvent every hurdle. a Trio of Teen Laura Croft wannabes in modern america. an interesting series meant for teen girls wanting a bit of romance and adventure but so syrupy it makes my teeth ache.
What was most disappointing about Linsey Hall’s story?
this series is very simple crossing fantasy and romance with harry potter and tomb raider.

Revisado: 11-18-16
a great series overstressed for the franchise. this story has little in plot and less in substance. it falls into listing stats of battles that are impossoble to follow. the main characters become administraters and the story reads like the spreadsheets they argue about.

Historia
Humanity has been brought to the brink of extinction. Each night, the world is overrun by demons - bloodthirsty creatures of nightmare that have been hunting the surface for over 300 years. A scant few hamlets and half-starved city-states are all that remain of a once proud civilization, and it is only by hiding behind wards, ancient symbols with the power to repel the demons, that they survive. A handful of Messengers brave the night to keep the lines of communication open between the increasingly isolated populace.

A Fantastic Epic. a must Hear with many repeats
Revisado: 03-08-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
A greatly anticipated and a Must for any Fantasy Enthusiast. long anticipated, Brandon Sanderson's second book in this series. The Stormlight Archive.i could not put stop.the story was so great that i finished all 48 hours of I have listened to the first Book in this series, " The Way of Kings ", at least a dozen times since i bought it and this Story i anticipate listening to just as often. a breath taking new style of fantasy not relying on classic character or racial styles. a totally original world Building and Magic system. An Awe inspiring Epic adventure you don't want to end. setting the stage for a world changing event this series Rivals any master epic i have previously read and even 2 of those were written bye this author.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kaladin grew up in a small town as an apprentice to his surgeon father. even after repeated Betrayals losses and Setbacks he rises as a hero that inspires most of the people he meets. a Rags to riches that outclasses anything previously written.
What about Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ’s performance did you like?
A Masterfull work bye the nanaraters and the voice actors. i look worward to listening to this repeatedly. like a favorite song this will be played over and over.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Few books leave a person overwelmingly awed and impressed. i lost sleep 2 nights in a row listening to this novel as i could not stop listening.a 48 hour read in under 3 days. i plan ti liste to this a second time within the next week and many more over the next few months. i have over 400 books in my audible library and have listened to only a few so often as i did the way of kings. i expect this to be another novel often repeated. its a refreshingly new style of story and a masterwork. only 3 other series have inspired me so much the wheel of time, the sword of truth and mistborn. brandon wrote mistborn and finished the wheel of time for its deceased author. no one else could have done it so well.
Any additional comments?
i will listen to this book and its precurser many times yet in the future and greatly look forward to the next cronicle in the series. whit thies 2 books he has set the stage for a grand master epic that will change the word of Fantasy novels as well as that of this series. i wish there were more authors who could write in such detail.

The Worst of the Nazi breed Mindset gone to Space
Revisado: 02-02-14
What disappointed you about Cyteen?
In a Far distant Future where the Worst of humanity has gone to space human breeding has become commonplace. genetically cloning the brightest people to save thier mental skillbase humanity has degraded to a mostly cloned people. Born People are becoming uncommon and the Ozzie Human Clones are manufactured like cloned cattle and treated about the same. the top level humans or clones are given total freedom and can not be punished even if they commit mass murder in public because their skills are needed bye the Government. Soldiers are cloned in Mass birthing factories and programmed bye Taped mental training imprinted directly into their memories. all behavior can be controlled bye thies mental programming tapes and minds can be wiped and reprogrammed.
this is the story of the Clone factories leaders and top workers and the debauchery and destruction they impose.
i stopped reading after the first few chapters maybe 1/4th of the book. i set it aside 3 times before i finally decided to deciding to not read the rest and write this review.
this is not a mental image i want my subconscious.
Would you ever listen to anything by C. J. Cherryh again?
C,J, Cherryh has always been a favorite author of mine but this story's mindset if straight out of Nazi Germany's Arien Nation breeding camps. Its a dangerous mindset to promote looking at humans, even cloned ones, as disposable trash. I dont believe in censorship but his story definitely deserve a severe caution and should be limited to mature readers only.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
naration and stopry production was fine. just the mental images are depresing and dangerous.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Cyteen?
if i was her publisher i would have refused this book. the writing was fine but the subject matter is not one that should be openly promoted. too many people with unstable minds could use this to justify human cruelty and it gives them ideas that should not be expressed in anything less than a college psychological diseases class. scenes where clones ozzie human are casually killed and disposed of because their owner died and there deaths were in the owners will.
Any additional comments?
This book covers subject matter that is dangerous to young impressionable minds. its should not be censored but a String warning caution given that its not for casual reading.
