Historia
Constance Greene confronts Manhattan’s most dangerous serial killer, Enoch Leng, bartering for her sister's life—but she is betrayed and turned away empty-handed, incandescent with rage. Unknown to Leng, Pendergast’s brother, Diogenes, appears unexpectedly, offering to help—for mysterious reasons of his own. Disguised as a cleric, Diogenes establishes himself in New York's notorious Five Points slum, manipulating events like a chess master, watching Leng’s every move…and awaiting his own chance to strike.

In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Absolutely Fantastic! I Love It!
Revisado: 09-12-21
This Story and performance was absolutely wonderful! The story, backdrop, sound effects, and music all reminded me of the dramatic Radio story performances of the 40's and 50's. I am familiar with The Sandman and listening to this performance was exhilarating and fun..... As I listened to this production my imagination was equally just as stimulated by the audio as the the visuals of the original graphic novel,. To hear it performed this productions allowed me to be totally immersed entirely in the story with my mind painting the graphics as I listened to the story!
I am totally in for the rest of this series! The best audible reading and performance Ever!

the next level of The Cabinet of Curiosities?
Revisado: 08-26-21
I liked some of the twists in this story, and even though some of it bordered on the fantastic, it kept my interest.
I liked the premise of parts of this book, as "The Cabinet of Curiosities" to date is still my favorite Pendergast book. I will be looking forward to read how this story line develops. Please don't disappoint dear authors!
I am in agreement with other reviewers as far as the narration is concerned. We all know what a wonderful narrator Rene Auberjonois was and perhaps like Pendergast there is only "one"! I am sure eventually there will be a better replacement narrator, but I was so caught up in the story, for me the narration did not terribly detract from my enjoyment of this story.

No crown of an Egyptian king has ever been discovered, and Narmer's is the elusive crown of the two Egypts.

Seriously NOT up to standard!
Revisado: 04-29-18
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No! As an avid follower of their story telling and writing, this book was a major, slip shod disappointment. I had the feeling this was a required contractual book, written under deadline with halfhearted effort!
What was most disappointing about Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child ’s story?
Really! bringing back the dead, not once....but twice! And reducing Pendergast and Constance to Drama Queens.....again, I say REALLY!
Which character – as performed by Rene Auberjonois – was your favorite?
I love them all!
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NO!
