I started to read this but switched to audio about Ch 3.

I genuinely think it best to hear Grace’s words in her own voice. There are parts when the authors lack of narration skills make the brain ok a bit stilted, the counter to this is the very real passion that you hear when necessary. This is an excellent book and I would recommend it to anyone of any gender from about early teens to old age. Teens should read it with parents as it can be quite confronting in places. This only adds value to the book.

A pity their editor lost the blue pencil.

Overblown and full of way too much trivial detail. Do we really need to hear every way a password can be entered for attempt after attempt. The plot is barely believable. The US president turns into a superhero again, but of course has the obligatory flaws. Overall pretty boring. The narration was flat, monotone, and just slow. Maybe, if you really want to try it, try using 1.5 speed.

A superb story, tightly written to keep you resetting the sleep timer as you just cant stop listening. The narrator is superb. He has created perfect characters. Highly recommend this and the entire Hogarth series.

God Sees the Truth, But Waits engages a subject that would have suited Dostoyevsky. But Dostoyevsky would have written it with a tone of fist-waving anger and frustration, while Tolstoy wrote this story with an accepting, non-violent attitude toward the grievances described. The protagonist has been wrongly accused of murder, separated from his family for 26 years, and by circumstance meets the real murderer in Siberia.

A fascinating feeling to the Greek myths. If, like me you don’t have a classical education behind you, this is an excellent primer to Greek mythology told with all of Fry’s usual humour. I’ll say this, those Greek gods and goddesses were a randy bunch. Thoroughly enjoyable book.
