Not done listening yet but I definitely suggest making notes as you go along. Especially when it comes to the habits to form. He mentions the GrowthDay App and I figured ok cool, that could help me with my progress. Yeah NO. It is a subscription. OK not bad, everything is nowadays but this app has no basic plan and premium plan. There's only one plan and you can either do it monthly or yearly. That's also fine, gotta get their money somehow. BUT again, the cost is $49/Month or $499/Year. Now I dunno about you, but that's quite a lot. If you can afford it, good on you. Personally I suggest taking those notes & listening to it often. There are plenty of great apps you can find that can help you plan, journal, make goals, etc along with making your own Growth plan. Ironic how his 19 year old self wouldn't have been able to afford the app though💀.

haaaa. It's better and we learn more interesting things. More action as well and the plot inches forward a bit. Buuuut, this author is obviously trying to juice these books for all their worth. I don't even want to buy anymore until I know how long he plans to stretch it out.

Good build up for book 3. More theoretical in the beginning but by the end everything comes together. Still feel like the stakes could be high though but maybe that's for later.

Likes: Interesting story, characters with great potential, wonderful world building

Dislikes: Too much slice of life, romance is might as well not be there because there is zero chemistry and they feel more like siblings, characters may have potential but for the most part their personalities feel empty.

It seems someone was up for a cash grab for this installment. As another reviewer mentioned, the author went to great lengths to include a lot of flashback moments. It's like the first book was never made because she makes it a point to summarize everything over and over again. Every time a character is mentioned, the author goes on a long tangent about them that is copy pasted from the first book. This book is really not great. It's a waste of money. Seriously, I regret buying it.

It's a very basic plot with predictable characters, but I guess there is a charm to that. you don't have to do much thinking on it and can just enjoy it for what it is. It's also very nostalgic for me since it's the kind of story I absolutely adored when I was in Elementary school. But yeah, don't expect anything groundbreaking.

I should've stuck to fanfiction. I basically spend money to read a glorified fanfic because that's what it reads as. The whole set up of it too. The main group is a bland group of people who are always being witty and sarcastic, and that's as far as their characterization goes. The plot is nothing special, no interesting twists or character growth and no real struggles. Alex is a narcissist which I find annoying and Henry is still bland throughout because instead of slowly building up his character, the author decided to just throw random interests at him and called that personality. Reminds me of the character-centric fanfictions I see a lot. And of course there has got to be a mention of how fearless and smart the women in the story are, which is always talked about, but never shown. Honestly most of the characters are annoying and remind me of the stereotype of young people the older generations have and as someone who is around the same age as the main characters, it's obnoxious and embarrassing. Also, political stuff is just backdrop. Of course the secret service is like family instead of being professional because why not. It really isn't worth the credit. Could've gotten an actual book instead of something I can read for free on Ao3.

I love this story. The performance is awesome too. The only thing I didn't is the abundance of scoffs in the audio, those really took me out of the story. But regardless, I still love it. Wish it was longer and more detailed.
