The series has gradually turned worse over the last few books. The writing feels more and more forced, it's also filled to the rafters with dialogues that never ends. Everything is over explained to such a degree that it sometimes borders on ridiculous.

Love the series, but...

If I was to rate the entire series up until now it would easily be a 5/5. But this book feels rushed and hollow. Worried that the last two books, which are even shorter, will continue getting more rushed and less like the previous books.

Still worth a credit If you enjoyed the series so far, but mostly due to being commited.

Story going downhill

Would love to love this book. But its getting more and more cringe with the constant sex scenes. Sex is fine, but its done in a way thats just pure cringe. Got through the book by skipping, a lot.

Not horrible, but

The concept in the book is quite interesting. The world building is good. However the writing is filled with redundancies and repeats itself over and over. A lot of the dialogue is quite cringe worthy and the characters feel shallow and awkward. I don't regret picking up the book, but mostly due to being between other books. It's worth a credit, but just barely. Performance is decent, just hard to enjoy even great performance when your cringing by the dialogue.

Edit: At reaching the end of this book (finally) it just got worse. I was cringing constantly for the last half hour.

Feels familiar

Love the story and characters. However it feels like it bleeds a lot into the Privateer Tales. Familiar characters, badguys and set-up.

Nothing wrong with that I guess, except I felt like I had to concentrate to not draw conclusions and expectations due to the similarities.

Absolutely worth a listen, I just hope the next books sepperates more from Privateer Tales so that we don't end up with two series with similar personalities and stories.

Performance is so cringe worthy that I had to put the book down several times and listen to something else for a bit. If you have the option, read this book, don't listen to it.

Excellent 2nd book

The continued story does not disappoint. It's the little things, pieces of seemingly random humour, interactions between the characters and nuances in the world that brings the book together.
