Awful..Terribly Disappointing
Revisado: 10-31-18
With only 3 hours left, I just don't have the will to push through the remaining pages of this book. I started over after about 2 hours into it because I thought I'd missed something. The story is simply without depth. It is a book about ....well, I really don't know. Boys are trained to become expert warriors. Women are hardly mentioned. A few teasers are provided (abnormal abilities) associated with the "Dark", but the story drags to nowhere. Now we have the all important, illusive "Blood Song" that appears to be a reason to keep reading. Well, the money is gone. I decided to cut my losses in time.

She couldn't decide whether to write a poam or a psychological thriller. There is good story worth the credit in there. However, extreme patients is required to endure the terribly distracting and misplaced descriptive stuff.

Historia
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

Descriptively Spooky & Engaging
Revisado: 08-24-18
I enjoyed every minute I spent listening to this gripping story. About a fourth of the way through the book, I found myself searching for more titles written by Nick Cutter. I think the narrator subtly added an enhanced level of creepiness to story. On several occasions, I stood completely motionless and carefully listening to what would come next. Money well spent!

Night! I can't wait to get the next book!
Revisado: 08-20-18
I seldom write a review, but this story demands one; particularly to counter the negative reviews that are based on Jardir's story. Please don't let those reviews discourage you. Jardir's history adds an intriguing and needed balance to the saga. The new and interesting characters introduced broadens the scope of the story. The end of this engaging drama left me wanting more. I paused several times while polishing my boat completely engrossed in epic battles that were occurring in the worlds of both antagonists when suddenly, and unexpectedly the book ended. "Night!!"
The outcome of the battles was satisfying, but I wanted more book. I said aloud; "Nooooo....Okay, that was good!"

Don't Forget Where We Started
Revisado: 11-21-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have already recommended this book to several couples because of the quality of information it contained. I don't believe in a perfect relationship; we are imperfect by design (the sum of our experiences). However, this book offers multiple ways to improve the quality of our love life if taken seriously.
What did you like best about this story?
The concept of deposits and withdrawals is so apparent that I don't know how I missed it. If both lovers apply this concept to daily living, then the mutual intentions of a happy home is guaranteed.
Have you listened to any of Willard F. Harley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first time I have listened to Willard and I think he was great.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There are many areas of this book that are useful for enhancing the quality of a relationship. Willard points to the fact that most of us tend to forget the efforts we made while trying to when the love of our partner. We get into routines that takes the love we treasure for granted. He also demonstrates how easy it is to find yourself on the side of the fence that grass only appears to be greener.
Any additional comments?
Don't waste your time and money on marriage counselling; listen to Willard F. Harley!

She claims the feeling is mutual...until she frames Calvin for murder and blackmails him. The price? Not much. Calvin just has to do her bidding in a black-market industry catering to the very rich and the oh-so-very disturbed. Maybe he's just better off at the bar.

Dark & Entertaining
Revisado: 11-21-16
Where does Hair of the Bitch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would rank this one among the top 20% of the psychological thrillers that I have listened to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hair of the Bitch?
The most memorable moments came near the end of the story where Calvin's expectations seem to be yet another extension of his gullible and unsuspecting personality (no spoilers).
Which scene was your favorite?
The author produced an interesting story that offered insight into a dark and conniving mind. Although Angela possessed the key elements of a psychopath (crafty, intelligent, self absorbed), these gifts were not well demonstrated on so naive a character like Calvin. He was just too simple. The story would have been more interesting if Angela had more of a challenge.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The narrator was exceptional. However, I was disappointed with the final resolve of the key character, Calvin. His final decision was unexpected and quite pointless. On second thought, how could I expect more from a character that has already been branded as "simple".
Any additional comments?
It is nice change in substance to read and listen to "bad girl" books. I wish there were more. The performance of the narrator enhanced the quality of the story.

Loved This Bad Girl
Revisado: 11-21-16
If you could sum up The Lure of Hell in three words, what would they be?
Intense, Scary, and Fun!
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the palpable fear that Ms. Lynn Montoya elicited right from the pages of the novel. Her patience with her targets was so eerie that it became humorous. Lynn's comment to a potential target during a police interrogation: “Don’t mind that mean old policeman, let him leave; you and I will work it all out” nearly brought me to my knees laughing.
The scary part was in knowing she meant every word of what she said.
Have you listened to any of Kevin Pierce’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Hey, Kevin is one of the best. In fact, I decided to discontinue buying books in this series because Kevin stopped narrating beyond book 4. He has the unique ability to left the story right off the pages and arouse the imagination. Kevin patience in narrating allows one to experience the story as though the events were happening in real time. He put the element of reality in fiction.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You only think that you're Bad!
Any additional comments?
Give me more of "Bad Girls" in novels. They are delightfully contradictory to "Sugar and Spice".
