Bad, Bad Narration
Revisado: 03-27-14
I only finished this book on Audible because I like Kate Carlisle books. I almost gave up halfway because of the lousy narration. This narrator cannot do British voices. Period. And her male American voices were terrible, too. In fact, there were only a few characters that had a voice that seemed appropriate. I listened to the book a second time, just to see if my opinion changed. Nope. The main character's voice, except when she was "speaking", was flat and devoid of personality. I might try another Kate Carlisle book, but not with this narrator.

Agatha Award-winning author Rhys Bowen’s charming combination of intrigue and romance blended with a touch of humor shines when performed by Audible Hall of Fame narrator Katherine Kellgren, whose deft range and impeccable accent work make it hard to believe this isn’t a multicast performance.

Light Entertaining Mystery
Revisado: 10-20-11
I was looking for a series that featured entertaining characters, good writing, and a "cozy" type of mystery. I have now found it. Lady Georgiana is an interesting character, set in an interesting time, and the glimpses into the lives of royalty, although fictional, are amusing. Rhys Bowen has an entertaining style of writing, with occasional laugh-out-loud moments.I greatly enjoyed this book, and have downloaded the next in the series. This is definitely light reading, however, but just the thing for a long car ride or before going to sleep.
