Historia
Laying out all the evidence in the most comprehensive summary ever written about the Ripper, this book, by a London police officer and crime authority, has subjected every theory - including those that have emerged in recent years-to the same deep scrutiny. The author also examines the mythology surrounding the case and provides some fascinating insights into the portrayal of the Ripper on stage and screen and on the printed page. More seriously, he also examines the horrifying parallel crimes of the Düsseldorf Ripper and the Yorkshire Ripper.

Some interesting things I’ve not read/heard before
Revisado: 02-28-23
Author has a wealth of knowledge…maybe too much! If you get can past the chapter he spends the entire chapter explaining each and every profession in White Chapel at the time broken down into hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly (something that other authors manage to express simply by saying “it was a poor area) it is intriguing.

I’ve come to find out the narrator is extremely important
Revisado: 02-07-23
I’ve written two poor reviews in the years I’ve had audible and doing a bit of research I realized both happened to be narrated by the same person. His voice and attempts at accents make this unlistenable to me.

Hard to listen to the narrator
Revisado: 02-07-23
First book I wish I could return. The narrators voice was simply annoying and unpleasant. He sounded like a bad parody of a voice actor.

In the early 1870s, local children begin disappearing from the working-class neighborhoods of Boston. Several return home bloody and bruised after being tortured while others never come back. With the city on edge, authorities believe the abductions are the handiwork of a psychopath until they discover that their killer - 14-year-old Jesse Pomeroy - is barely older than his victims.

Lots of pointless rants
Revisado: 06-20-22
half of a chapter is nonsense about Moby Dick. Many story’s about people that have nothing at all to do with (what I thought was) the subject matter. Maybe to practice her English accent which I also do not understand, the story did take place in the United States. My advice to the author If your book is only 4 hours long let it be 4 hours long. Don’t make it 7 hours long by adding 3 hours of nonsense. I wish I could get my credit back.

This audiobook focuses on the countless theories that have been put forward with regard to the identity of the notorious Victorian serial killer and offers an extensive section presenting all the known facts in the case. It included 30 essays by the most famous, often controversial Ripperologists putting forward their own theories. It remains one of the few audiobooks to offer a series of alternative solutions to Jack the Ripper's identity and the truth behind the Whitechapel murders.

Always been interested in this subject. Learned lots of new things. I did find it someone what redundant and often wondered if I was back tracking but with so many people having theories it’s hard not to be.
