Angsty + Trope heaven!

The absolute angst in this book is all I needed and more.
“This kiss is deep and anything but tender. It is betrayal. It is bitterness. And nothing has ever tasted so sweet. It is ruin.”
Lauren writes such a unique MMC, he almost felt too vulnerable at first. What initially felt a bit corny developed into one of the most admirable, witty, well spoken MMC's I've read in a long time. We have to protect Kai at all costs. Such a quotable character. I really love how badass Paedyn gets to be in some of the duel, fighting, and attack scenes. It doesn't really get old watching a strong FMC yield a crossbow. I'll leave this with saying, the ending HURT. I don't agree and will chose to believe a HEA until further notice, thank you. This was entirely a feel good, curl up in a ball, kick your feet giggling type of book. I zoomed through it. I listened to the audiobook and the voice actors delivered in a way they didn't need to. <3

I am reading this book as part of a management course along with several others. There are some good principles laid out throughout the book but it’s also full of a lot of fluff. You probably could have gotten the same amount of information across in much less time.

This is what it's like to be an emergency doctor. That teenager puking up two liters of vodka and his stomach lining at triage? Yup. Blood pouring out of a terrified pregnant woman? Call me. And, of course, the patient who no longer has a nosebleed screaming at me across the department, "You are the most unfeeling doctor I have ever met!" Fun fun fun. Let me peel back the curtain for you. It's not an iron curtain. In the emerg, it's most likely a crummy fabric curtain that too many other people have sneezed on. Come on in.

She mentions she only writes about the funny or crazy stuff. I didn't hear a single outrageous or awesome story. Not a single funny story. This is mostly just about her personal life, her pregnancy, her schooling, her passion, her father, etc. this definitely isn't what I was expecting.

I found this book on a hilarious book list, then read all the amazing reviews. The only reason I didn't give up on it after a few hours is cause I had paid for it. The story had a lot of potential but didn't live up to it. The narration frankly I found annoying. Finally I maybe got a hardy of chuckles but it certainly wasn't hilarious. If you already paid for it then it's worth finishing but otherwise it's not worth the money.

First negative book review I've felt obligated to write.

This book has a half decent story too it but I feel obligated to write this review. I was looking for a funny book to listen to, so when I read the reviews for how hilarious this book was I jumped on it. I've honestly got to say I didn't laugh at all, it was slow, boring, and did not catch my interest in the slightest.
