Historia
Tabitha, Lady Chesterton, the Countess of Pembroke, is newly widowed at only 22 years of age. With no son to inherit the title, it falls to a dashing, distant cousin of her husband's, Jeremy Chesterton, known as Wolf. It quickly becomes apparent that Wolf had consorted with some of London's most dangerous citizens before inheriting the title. Can he leave this world behind, or will shadowy figures from his past follow him into his new aristocratic life in Mayfair? And can Tabitha avoid being caught up in Wolf's dubious activities?

Boring narration
Revisado: 06-23-24
The story could have been good, but the narration was boring. The hero turned into a weak character midways and I did not like the heroine although she had a good heart. I could not finish this story.

Not the best of this series
Revisado: 03-27-24
I did not enjoy this book as much as the previous ones in the series. I found the story with its two different crimes too laboured. In addition the narration was often harsh and difficult to listen to.

Really enjoyed it!
Revisado: 01-11-22
This is a slow moving crime with a lovely French atmosphere. I had to get used to the French names, but the story was interesting enough that this was not a problem after a while. I enjoyed the insights in to the academic world. I would really like to read more books from this author.

Historia
Melissa North had assumed that after eight years of not setting eyes on each other, her youthful attraction to - or an infatuation with - Julian Delamere, once Viscount Dagenham and now earl of Carsely, would have faded to nothing and gasped its last. Unfortunately, during the intervening years, she has failed to find any suitable suitor who measures up to her mark, and she is resigned to ending her days an old maid. Then she sees Julian across a crowded ballroom, and he sees her, and the intensity of their connection shocks her.

Not really a Lady Osbaldestone Christmas story
Revisado: 12-29-21
I was looking for another lovely story in the series, but this is a very different type of story. Lady Osbaldestone only appears for a moment and most of this very long story does not take place at Christmas. Two of the characters from one of the earlier books are the main players in this book, and as such interesting. Still, I was disappointed.

Interesting story, but…
Revisado: 06-29-21
I found the main story about east end orphan boys being stolen away to become thieves quite engaging, but the other part of the story, a romance took up to much time and was too ‘hot’ for my taste…

Investigators find her empty car on the edge of a deep, gloomy pond, the only clues some tire tracks nearby and a fur coat left in the car - strange for a frigid night. Eleven days later, she reappears, just as mysteriously as she disappeared, claiming amnesia and providing no explanations for her time away.

Disappointed
Revisado: 04-20-21
I had high hopes for this story of Agatha Christie’s disappearance. But I found the parts describing her husband’s thoughts and reactions extremely boring, I ended up skipping every second chapter in the middle of the book. Those parts would perhaps have been better with a male reader.
