Historia
"This is a very difficult letter to write. I hope you will not hate us too much.... My son broke into your home recently while you were out." In a quiet, leafy suburb in upstate New York, a teenager has been sneaking into houses - and into the owners' computers as well - learning their secrets, and maybe sharing some of them, too. Who is he, and what might he have uncovered? After two anonymous letters are received, whispers start to circulate, and suspicion mounts. And when a woman down the street is found murdered, the tension reaches the breaking point.

Just ok
Revisado: 01-24-22
Not compelling. Fairly easy to figure out the culprit towards the end. Excessive misdirection. Just ok. I finished it which means something, but it was just ok. I would not recommend.

Still struggling with the horrific ghosts of his past, Parker is now a disillusioned private eye hired to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Grace Peltier - which neither her father nor a former US senator believes was suicide. Was the narrator SO BAD that it destroyed the story?
Revisado: 02-09-21
This doesn’t sound like the same author of the other Charlie Parker books. Perhaps the narrator was SO AMAZINGLY BAD that the story fell apart in the telling? Or maybe john had a writing team help him with this one. Charlie came off as a sad, sniveling coward. The character just didn’t seem the same, but I can’t say if that was totally in the telling or the writing. I just despised this book. I couldn’t focus on the story because the narrator was just so terrible. Spoiler alert.......Charlie gets Rachel pregnant in the end. SKIP THIS NOVEL and move on to the next one in the series. I’ve told you all you need to know.

This was SOOO bad
Revisado: 02-02-21
This is a dirty, r-rated tale of Peter Pan. Imagine the lost boys talking like a mob of gangsters. The dialogue doesn’t make sense for the characters being represented. These 12 year olds are cursing and talking about murder like experienced “made men”. It’s awkward and immature...and quite frankly, I was embarrassed for the author. The narrator did not help with this sad tale. His forced telling of this shitty “adults only” take on Peter Pan was painful. I literally had to stop listening and just walk away from the credit I spent. This book is not worth you time if you have ANY critical thought capacity. So bad, just so bad.

This book had me hooked in the first chapter in book 1....then it wen to hell.
Revisado: 02-02-21
This series could have EASILY been condensed into 2 books but the publisher smelled money and drug it into a 4 book series. Remember writing a paper in English class that had to be 4 pages but it was only 2 so you started adding adjectives???? That’s what this series was like. It was not creative and was somewhat immature in the attempt to extend the content. I think immature is the best term for this series. SPOILER ALERT, it keeps going! Throughout this series, I kept telling myself “This CAN’T continue into another book”, yet it did. Then we got to the end of book 4 and it clearly was supposed to linger on.../on life support with no end in sight. I bailed out. Save yourself time. Read a few high school English papers that had to be re-written to add more word counts and you’ll get the gist of this series. The writing lacks maturity, creativity and intuition. This was forced.

What a waste of time
Revisado: 05-27-20
The first two books were a little tough to follow but I thought it had potential. I hoped the last book would pull it all together but it didn’t. It was complicated. i think the author tried to explain the back story but He failed. I couldn’t follow the science, it was depressing, I didn’t care for the characters. This was just such an overall waste of my time.

This was such a huge disappointment. Obviously it was well written but it was forcibly drug out with too much detail that I really didn’t care about. It was predictable and maybe a bit immature. I have always been a fan of dean joints but I feel like things have changed after enduring this wordy, boring, epic.

Juvenile, clumsy, massive time waste
Revisado: 05-25-19
I wanted to quit this book so many times. However, it was so bad that I had to finish it so I could write this review. This was not clever or intelligent or witty. This story was written by a 10 year old with a gift for adjectives when describing scenery. The plot was so thin with a floppy stray ends that never came together. The reader was lovely but the story was so stupid that I ended up hating her for not making up a new version that might be more refined for the “over 12” crowd. Do not waste you time. This author is on my banned list.
