Great Story, but too much F-Word
Revisado: 01-25-22
I wish Audible had some way to screen out the too frequent use of this kind of language. I really like the story, it was interesting and unusual and well 0read. But I don't need to hear the F-word all the time. I also dislike that the main character was a smoker. I will not be reading the rest of the series.

Historia
All I wanted to do was take a break from college to check out LegendFest, some good ol' cosplay, and maybe find a lady to hit it off with. My life took a new direction, though, when I found out myths like Red Riding Hood are real, and they’re in an ongoing war against evil to save us all. More than that, they are being hunted, mistaken as humanity's enemy. They need a mortal to serve as their protector, someone to keep them out of harm's way while leading the battle against the likes of the Big Bad Wolf, Baba Yaga, and other evil legends. Now, I am that protector.

Did NOT Finish - F-Word twice in the first few min
Revisado: 11-20-21
The premise of this story sounded interesting and I don't mind a little romance as long as its 1. not explicit and 2, not the focus of the story, but I never got the chance to see if the story was too racy for my taste because the F word showed up twice in the first few minutes!!! I cannot abide this kind of profanity used so casually and frequently. Maybe once or twice in a long book, I wlll just skip over it., but this was not even fitting, It just showed the main character to be NOT the kind of person I care to listen about at all. I really wish this kind of profanity could be indicated begore I waste my time on a book

teaser, no real resolution
Revisado: 02-24-21
Hopefully there will be an actual detailed series to come. If not, this story is rather pointless

Historia
No one knows where the Tufa came from or how they ended up in the mountains of east Tennessee. When the first Europeans came to the Smoky Mountains, the Tufa were already there. Dark-haired and enigmatic, they live quietly in the hills and valleys of Cloud County, their origins lost to history. But there are clues in their music, hidden in the songs they have passed down for generations.

too slow, bad language, weak plot
Revisado: 12-22-20
read ten chapters and just couldn't like it well enough to finish it. it has an interesting premise, but didn't live up to it's potential, and the bad language was too much to ignore when the book was so slowly paced. I usually finish even mediocre books, but just gave up on this one.

Awesome book! great adventure
Revisado: 09-01-20
excellent world building, kind of steampunk, great characters with dimension and depth, a slow start but worth the effort, fast paced after that. Clean, fun and very enjoyable. Would probably be a good read-aloud as a family, and discussion of ethical issues.
