Historia
Join the conversation as a father and son talk about pursuing beauty, dealing with money, getting married, chasing dreams, knowing something real with God, and how to find a life you can call your own. Killing Lions is more than fatherly advice. It is an invitation into a journey: either to be the son who receives fathering or the father who learns what must be spoken. Most important, these conversations speak to a searching generation: "You are not alone. Its not all up to you. You are going to find your way."

A conversation with dad
Revisado: 10-24-17
This book is a great listen on the struggles of young men in todays’s culture with some fatherly advice. I think in some ways the narration between a son and his father makes it a better book for listening then reading. Recommend for dads with teenagers and young men in early to mid 20’s.

Historia
In one of the most timely political books in years, Gail Collins declares that "what happens in Texas doesn't stay in Texas anymore." Gail Collins's fascination with Texas began rather abruptly in that distant spring of 2009 when she heard Governor Rick Perry - back to the wall, boots to the ground - address a Tea Party rally full of passionate Texans who seemed to be interested in seceding from the Union. "How long had this been going on?" she wondered, on behalf of the rest of the nation. "Was it something that we said?"

Entertaining Political Poke
Revisado: 07-06-12
I have a daughter going to college in Texas this fall. Thought I would pick up a book to learn a little about the Texas culture. I got a little of what I was looking for. It started out fun with an perspective of the Alamo and the politics of wide open spaces. It took a strong left turn as it went on. Gail Collins was an easy listen, however I think to give one state with a group of of characters credit for so much change is a bit of a leap. I think you could probably write the same book about about characters in some Eastern states and one state along the great lakes that begins with I. Still a fun listen for those who aren't offended by listening to the left agenda.

A Delightful Insight
Revisado: 07-15-06
Great narration, good story, and memorable one-liners for those who listen closely. The book puts you in the head of a 16 just turned 17 yr old intelligent American born Indian girl growing up in Jersey the summer before her Senior year in high school. It speaks to adapting to your culture but it's more than about being Indian.
My daughter " just liked the book" . For me it was a multi-cultural snapshot - Indian, high school, college, big city- and a reminder of high school Summer days, the journey of self discovery, and the importance of being connected to family and friends.

Well Done Classic!
Revisado: 01-20-06
My 11 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this book. Jim Dale does an excellent job of making this classic come alive. His character voices are clear and provide personality without distracting from the pace of story. You might recognize similarites in a few characters if you listened to many of the Harry Potter books.
