Historia
Samantha is a professional seductress and con artist with a heart of gold. If she talked about her work, she’d tell you she only pilfers organs for medical research and that she only takes one kidney, and she only steals those kidneys from dishonest people. It’s hell on her social life. Abe is the doctor and Sam's partner in crime. He isn’t much of a criminal. Except for the kidney stealing. But he’s using that money to fund his research that he anticipates will be able to cure diabetes. So, all for a good cause...? You decide. Of course, it's hell on his social life.

The chapter summaries are a waste of time. The themes section is good. If they mean what they say that they hope I buy the book, they’ve done their job

This novel should have been shorter

I can’t understand why this book was 16 hours long. The first 8 hours drag terribly but then it gets very interesting in the last eight.

A must read for the Mzungu who question their lives in Africa
Revisado: 09-07-19
This book beautifully illustrates the daily debates I have in my head about bringing up a family in Africa when our other options are New York, Vancouver, or let’s face it, just about anywhere else on the planet. My daughter has four passports, yet we choose to live in a country with a higher murder rate, lower life expectancy and greater likelihood of bodily or health harm risk befalling her than the other three countries. Beautifully written. I’m now going to search for his newspaper articles.

Historia
The Game recounts the incredible adventures of the everyday man who transforms himself from a shy, awkward writer into the quick-witted, smooth-talking Style, a character irresistible to women. But just when life is better than he could have ever dreamed (he uses his techniques on Britney Spears, receives life coaching from Tom Cruise, moves into a mansion with Courtney Love, and is officially voted the World's Number One Pickup Artist), he falls head over heels for a woman who can beat him at his own game.

This isn’t the ‘how to’ guide
Revisado: 01-22-19
Apparently that is the other book, The Rules. But nonetheless it is an interesting story about the origins of the Pick Up community in the days before #metoo. The narrator sounds like Jonah Hill, which maintained a very amusing image in my brain. It is interesting until they move into the house in the Hollywood Hills, then the story really loses steam.

Historia
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

I was hoping for so much more. I really enjoyed the Butterfly Effect. This feels like it is trying really hard to be a murder mystery but it is just a sad story about the industry.
