Historia
Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, one of the few capable of hunting the monsters that prey on humanity. He uses magical signs, potions, and the pride of every Witcher—two swords, steel and silver. But a contract has gone wrong, and Geralt finds himself without his signature weapons. Now he needs them back, because sorcerers are scheming, and across the world clouds are gathering. The season of storms is coming. . .

this was my first Witcher novel. and after knowing something of the characters from the Netflix series it was most enjoyable.
Revisado: 01-19-24
I liked that I knew who some of the characters were and that I could just follow along with what the author had to share with me throughout the story. it skipped around with the interludes sometimes and I got lost but I was always able to figure out where I was in relation to the story being told.

In 2010, the words “earthquake swarm” entered the lexicon in Oklahoma. That same year, a trove of Michael Jackson memorabilia—including his iconic crystal-encrusted white glove—was sold at auction for over $1 million to a guy who was, officially, just the lowly forestry minister of the tiny nation of Equatorial Guinea. And in 2014, Ukrainian revolutionaries raided the palace of their ousted president and found a zoo of peacocks, gilded toilets, and a floating restaurant modeled after a Spanish galleon.

COMPLETELY COMPELLING
Revisado: 10-22-19
The gift Ms. Maddow posesses is to explain the complicated in a way that anyone can understand. In this complicated knot we require a guide like this to unravel the twine of what the oil industry has become.
Thank goodness for Rachel Maddow's humor and intelligence as a reporter. This is one of the most important books of the Year.

Historia
Invite Hannibal Lecter into the palace of your mind and be invited into his mind palace in turn. Note the similarities in yours and his, the high vaulted chambers of your dreams, the shadowed halls, the locked storerooms where you dare not go, the scrap of half-forgotten music, the muffled cries from behind a wall. In one of the most eagerly anticipated literary events of the decade, Thomas Harris takes us once again into the mind of a killer, crafting a chilling portrait of insidiously evolving evil - a tour de force of psychological suspense.

Even better having it read to us by Daniel Gerroll
Revisado: 09-10-19
The best of the four Hannibal novels. As a fan of the Bryan Fuller TV show we find many of the scenes and words from Harris which the producers plucked from these pages. Watch the show after or before and marvel at both works of art in their differences and similarities.

Awful Story even for a YA story.
Revisado: 08-25-19
You can tell this is for a young adult reader, but it's dilouge incredibly childish even for a YA book. I stopped listening after less than 90 minutes. Pew I still have it's stink on me.

Historia
In the early hours of a quiet weekend morning in Manhattan's Diamond District, a brutal triple murder shocks the city. Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs quickly take the case. Curiously, the killer has left behind a half-million dollars' worth of gems at the murder scene, a jewelry store on 47th street. As more crimes follow, it becomes clear that the killer's target is not gems but engaged couples themselves.

Deaver Delivers Again
Revisado: 11-22-18
As usual with the character of Lincoln Rhyme it's an intricate story filled with little catches and releases like Velcro. The "C" story of Vemil the gem cutter was extraordinary. And in the end, you are anywhere but where you thought you'd turn up. I'm glad I own this one, because I'm going to listen again.

Revisado: 07-10-18
Too much explicit sex, and Tecno Babble. The first in the series was like a future detective story. This was a jumble so many consepts and silly ideas it was hard to follow. This will be a return. But I try the next in the trilogy to see it he is a one hit wonder or not.

Historia
Robert McCall is a former covert operations officer for the CIA who tries to atone for past sins by offering, free of charge, his services as a protector, an investigator, and a troubleshooter—often literally. Aided by a group of sometimes-mysterious contacts, some of whom date back to his spying days, McCall traverses the streets of New York City, visiting justice upon those who prey upon the weak. A woman finds herself the target of a Chechen nightclub owner. The club is actually a front for an elite assassination service—run by an old enemy of McCall’s.

Macbeth: A Novel brings the intricacy and grit of the historical thriller to Shakespeare’s tale of political intrigue, treachery, and murder. In this full-length novel written exclusively for audio, authors A. J. Hartley and David Hewson rethink literature’s most infamous married couple, grounding them in a medieval Scotland whose military and political upheavals are as stark and dramatic as the landscape in which they are played.

This is pretty much Alan Cumming's natural voice.
Revisado: 06-20-18
this was actually a really good at apptation of the Scottish play you get to really follow along with it and you get more of an understanding of what is happening. Alan (Up and) Cummings gives a fantastic performance in what is from my understanding pretty much his natural accent he is such an amazing actor in performer that you get a real sense that you're listening to Scotsman.
if your Shakespeare fan like I am this is really something to add to your collection.
