Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Relatable and Relevant to All
Revisado: 01-10-23
Mrs. Obama is a able to articulate what most of of have floating around in our heads throughout our lives.
As always, she is insightful, practical and thoughtful. She gives practical advice, reminds us that we all have doubts, anxieties and times when our tanks feel empty. It has encouraged me to be more intentional about who is at my “kitchen table “and how I invest in those who invest in me.

Historia
Her role as Alexis Carrington Colby in Dynasty brought her to peak stardom, a role which might have been created for the tempestuous, strong-willed, and passionate woman that she is. As might be expected, in this memoir, she tells the truth; from her romantic adventures - sometimes desirable, sometimes disastrous - with some of the most famous and interesting men in the world, to the inside story of her fascinating and erratic acting career. Joan Collins candidly divulges her past imperfect in a book that is, like herself, outspoken, witty, daring, and full of life.

Authentic and Interesting
Revisado: 06-29-22
We all have some level of voyeur in us and an interest in the lives and professions of others that are far removed from our own.
This memoir gives an authentic glimpse into the workings and history of an industry that I know little of but have always been interested in knowing more about. I enjoyed hearing about some of the technical aspects of the industry from Ms. Collin’s perspective.
I’ve always respected the talent of so many great actors and always understood the difference between the actors as people and their performances. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

A Deeper Look Into A Leader For These Times
Revisado: 11-13-20
I didn’t know much about Kamala Harris before hearing this book. It is an interesting and insightful story of who she is and what she stands for.
It leaves one hopeful that we may restore integrity to the executive branch. Kamala is for the people and understands the importance of remembering how much more alike we are than different. How refreshing to hear a leader who believes in and expects personal accountability.

An Honest And Inside Look at Psychotherapy
Revisado: 08-15-20
This book was a refreshingly honest story and discussion about psychotherapy as an important tool to maintain overall health. As a natural voyeur, I enjoyed the author’s sharing of her story and those of some of her clients.
It important to here stories of the human condition. It helps to hear how others walk through difficult times in their lives. It’s also a reminder to remember that you never know what those around you are confronting in their personal lives.
Finally, the Brittany Presley’s performance was excellent!!! I’ll try to seek other books narrated by her.

Revisado: 08-03-19
Julie Yip-Williams memoir is a true gift to those lucky enough to have good health and to those dealing with life limiting illnesses. I am grateful for what she has shared here and am even more determined to shake things up and pay attention to the things that are most important in my life.
Her honest account of her and her family’s journey through her illness is a testament to her strength and dedication to her husband and child. Thank you to Julie and her family for sharing the intimate details of this inspiring story.

Historia
In November 2014, 13 members of the Biden family gathered on Nantucket for Thanksgiving, a tradition they had been celebrating for the past 40 years; it was the one constant in what had become a hectic, scrutinized, and overscheduled life. The Thanksgiving holiday was a much-needed respite, a time to connect, a time to reflect on what the year had brought, and what the future might hold. But this year felt different from all those that had come before.

The funny and talented Chip Gaines is well known to millions of people as a TV star, renovation expert, bestselling author, husband to Joanna, and father of four in Waco, Texas. But long before the world took notice, Chip was a serial entrepreneur who was always ready for the next challenge. Authentic and inspiring
Revisado: 05-26-18
It has been fun watching the antics of Chip Gains with his wife Joanna on TV but it was pure pleasure listening to this book. Although I suspected that Chip was a great Dad and a good man, I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of his views and grateful for the motivation of his words. We need more Chips in this world.
