When asked to give my honest opinion in exchange for a copy of this "Shadow of Time" audio book, I was quite surprised. Being of the male and over 50 crowd I didn't know if this story would hold my attention for long. I have to honestly admit that the beginning of the audio book seemed to drag on a bit for me while listening, and I found myself fast-forwarding through most of it. However, the latter part picked up nicely and the story moved at a relatively decent pace.

I'm not usually a reader of young adult material, however I did truly enjoy the historical accounting of Navajo culture and tradition and gained much knowledge of the ways of their people. Since I too am of mixed Native American decent, the research the author did was quite fascinating for me and I found myself engulfed in the historical aspects of the story. However, the "young love" trials and tribulations throughout the audio book mostly eluded me and have all but vanished from my own memory.

With the exception of a few things that the main characters said or did that brought back a few parallels in my distant memories, the story itself was lost on this 50 something male listener. My 14 year old granddaughter however, appears to be captivated by the story line and seems to be enjoying it with great interest, as evident in her gleeful nods when asked if she would recommend this book to her friends.

Overall this is a great book to give to the young adult female as a gift for proper behavior as I did. As I said, the historical knowledge was quite interesting for me. The story line itself seems quite entertaining for the younger demographic the author wrote for. I also found the narrator, Coco Bell to be pleasant to listen to. The author Jen Minkman did a great job writing the story and a fine job translating it to American English. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to any young adult readers of romance.

The audio book "Beekeeping Buzz" was my first experience with this authors work. I welcomed the chance to listen to this beginners beekeeping book when I was offered it in exchange for an honest review. I've always been interested in beekeeping since I was a child. The fact that something as small a a bee could have such an impact on all our lives fascinates me. We as humans don't often give these insects enough credit for all of the benefit of our food supply. Not only would we as a species slowly starve to death without them, I personally would miss honey were it not for the tremendous amount of work that bees do to get a pound of the sweet stuff.

This book the the author Nicole Wrinn has written certainly goes into some great detail for the beginning or want-to-be beekeeper. Not only does the author explain the ins-and-outs of getting your first hive up and going, but also asks the important questions about where to locate the hive considering your neighborhood, your property conditions, your city ordinances and your neighbors reaction to having hives close by. These are definitely some things to consider before investing in this as a new hobby, past-time or business model. Consulting with an active beekeeper in your area is probably the first step in investigating if you have what it takes to succeed at this.

The author goes on to explain the types of equipment you'll need to take this up as a part-time hobby or even as a full-time venture. Nicole even suggests that this be taken up as an "experiment" at first, to see if you have what it takes to run this as a business venture. She explain that although bees do the work of gathering the resources to make honey, they still need constant attention to ensure a healthy, disease-free hive. Overall, a lot of thought
was put into this book to help the beginning beekeeper get started on the right foot. This is a great audio book, and I'll refer back to it often as I ponder my own situation for starting this venture. Nicely researched and written, as well as narrated. I would recommend this book to all that are considering beekeeping on their property.

When I was very young, I experimented with OOBE's quite a bit after finding a book about it in the library. I was fascinated with the idea of leaving my body and being able to go anywhere I wanted. When I was asked to give my honest opinion of this audible book in exchange for a copy, the fascination was back full force!

This book goes into much more detail than the book I found 40 years ago. The techniques for achieving OOBE's is very detailed by author Dr. Jill. You sure can tell she has many years of first-hand experience with the subject. Yet I found the material very easy to follow along without too much psychological terminology.

I really enjoyed listening to this material rather than reading it. The narrator Arika Rapson has a very pleasant and soothing voice that was perfectly suited to this book. I also liked that I was able to pause the audio and experiment with the different techniques given to find the ones that seemed most natural for me. Overall I think this is a great audio-book on the subject as well as a great experience listening to the material.

My wife and I were just talking about going to Florida to see my parents, so I was surprised when I was offered "History of St. Augustine Florida" audio book by Jesse W. Love in trade for my honest review. I thought it would be nice to be able to show my folks around since they've lived in Ocala for 5 years and sill haven't seen much of Florida. I was really pleased to find that instead of just getting a history lesson about St. Augustine, I've got a virtual tour guide of the place!

This book is beautifully written by Jesse W. Love who does an incredible job of leaving out all the typical boring history stuff. What is left to tell are all the nitty-gritty, down-to-earth stories that really give you a feeling of what it must have been like since St. Augustine's founding 400 years ago. This audio book is not your typical dull history lecture. No, no, this is so much better than anything you've sat through in class.

This audio book is very well narrated by Josh Engel, who in my opinion has one of the best voices for audio books I've heard. Josh has a very smooth tone and is very easy to listen to. Combined with the author's unique style of recounting the fascinating history of this place, I think this audio book will be perfect to play as we drive around St. Augustine this summer with my parents. In fact, I think it will be much like having our very own tour guide!
