Historia
For over a century, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves have lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over, and now the races are fighting once again. The only good elf, it seems, is a dead elf. Geralt of Rivia, the cunning assassin known as The Witcher, has been waiting for the birth of a prophesied child. This child has the power to change the world - for good, or for evil.

this is more just a character study than and actual plot. if you like that kinda suff its well done. personally i'd prefer the character growth be explored during an actual plot

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Slow moving at times, riveting other times.
Revisado: 01-20-15
What made the experience of listening to The Way of Kings the most enjoyable?
Voice work was excellent.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The world building and the cast of characters largely are very interesting, this is a book that spends allot of time on the small things building towards a slow moving story.
Which character – as performed by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer – was your favorite?
Dalamar stood out, so did a number of the minor characters. You get a good grasp of each characters motivations and inner self throughout the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The final battle and last few hours of the book in general finally grabbed me after a many hours of back and forth between lulls of boredom and intent interest in the book
Any additional comments?
I am really on the fence of this book. The introduction had me very optomistic, but the book really started to drag in sections, I took a break from it and came back later to finish it, and it took until the last 6-7 hours of the book before i finally bought in and really started enjoying it. I can't say I will pursue the series, but i can't really say i won't either!

Revisado: 11-26-14
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not. Its not strong enough to recommend.
Would you be willing to try another book from R. A. Salvatore? Why or why not?
I have read of alot of his works over the years, I might just be suffering from Drizzt fatigue so i have been finding i skip more and more of his releases.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
As it was a compilation with different Narrators i found some to be excellent and some to be ho hum.
Could you see Free: The Legend of Drizzt: The Collected Stories being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
no.
Any additional comments?
It was free, some of the stories were entertaining a lot weren't Definitely this was a B-sides.

Historia
The year is 2033. The world has been reduced to rubble. Humanity is nearly extinct and the half-destroyed cities have become uninhabitable through radiation. Beyond their boundaries, they say, lie endless burned-out deserts and the remains of splintered forests. Survivors still remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilisation have already become a distant memory. Man has handed over stewardship of the earth to new life-forms.

Post Apoc character journey at it's best
Revisado: 11-26-14
Would you listen to Metro 2033 again? Why?
No, only because I never read / listen to books a second time, but I would recommend to friends.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Artyom, the book is more about his character then a specific plot (although there is a driving goal) Artyom is well written with complexity to make you want to see his development throughout.
What does Rupert Degas bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I really enjoyed his Russian accents varying from character to character without feeling over produced.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
If you only have time to see one movie before the apocalypse, see this one.
Any additional comments?
This book was a very pleasant surprise, I picked it up because I had just got the video game and it far exceeded all expectations. If you like things such as "The Road" and "The Walking Dead" you will probably like this.

Terrible.
Revisado: 11-26-14
Would you try another book from John Jackson Miller and/or Marc Thompson?
Possibly
Would you ever listen to anything by John Jackson Miller again?
Possibly
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Vidian sounds like Darth Vader to much. Skelly was a super annoying voice.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A New Dawn: Star Wars?
Vidian is so bad, he makes no sense. For a Villian all obsessed with logical efficiency he makes a lot of illogical and unbelievable decisions.
Any additional comments?
Beyond seeing the start of the Rebels with Hera meeting Kanan not much redeems this book, poor villains and terrible secondary characters. Doesn't feel much like Star wars.
